It is unfathomable anyone who has watched us in the last 3 seasons would think against keeping him! Simply unfathomable. A proven quality performer at this level and still at a good age. I maintain when fully fit he is , by far, our best and most important player.

I'd go further and suggest that if Powell was put on the market, there would be few clubs in the Prem/C'ship who would be even interested. And I am not even planning on winding any one up. I'd swap him for a sorely-needed defensive midfielder if possible.

There are plenty of clowns who know nowt about football therefore they think it's still all hoof. Nick Powell should have the team built around him. FACT!

If we fail to address the target man issue in the summer and we manage to sign Sawyers I'd play Powell as the target man.

I'm not sure we'd be playing him in two dead rubbers if we were planning on not extending the contract. Get it done if it hasn't been done already.

If we fail to address the target man issue in the summer and we manage to sign Sawyers I'd play Powell as the target man. He can win the headers when needed. However, then he’s the one battling the centre back as opposed to getting into space around them, which is where he’s always played best. Instead of shoehorning Powell in there so that we can sign someone who doesn’t work that well alongside him, we should just sign the target man and be done with it. Powell has been out for most of the season yet he’s still contributed more than Sawyers has.

I agree, that's why I said if we don't manage to sign a proper target man as he's the next best thing and can actually do a decent job of it.

Put him up on the market. If Powell is really a freaking superstar, then we should be able to reap a fat profit by selling him, and that is, if any decent club dares to bite the bait. Let the market decide.

Let the market decide. We don't need to make a fat profit, he's a player we need to build a team around. So for that you're out because you know the square root of F##k all about football.

Let the market decide. I don’t think anyone believes he is a superstar. The football we play is a lot better with him in the team than without it, though. It’s an odd logic. Do clubs just put up their best players for sale and see if others are interested in breaking the bank to get them before realizing that they are good and rejecting the bids?

They see it as the best way to unsettle and remove focus so as to get less out of them on the pitch and in transfer fees.

Let the market decide. Seriously, having been shown exactly what he brings to the team in Tachyon’s piece, and having seen the numbers in terms of goals he brings, what’s your issue with him? You seem to be content to just ignore all that for a petty, baseless grudge.
