What with all us who are of the opinion the Tory party are just a bunch of self-serving , lying, rule-breaking tossers intent on inflicting yet another dreadful PM on the country, it would be interesting to hear from anyone of a different political persuasion on here who is genuinely excited by what either of the candidates offers to the UK. I can only assume the silence so far is due to embarrassment in recognition that both are truly awful. It is impossible to elect any other party at the moment |

If they only made £1bn profit (who needs more than £1bn) and the rest was used to mitigate the cost of living. That would be fair profit. Making a profit out of misery inflicted on others is evil. Such as slavery, or human trafficking. Arguably the oil and gas producer are inflicting misery on millions in pursuit of profit. So actually perhaps it is a bit evil. I'm not sure there is anyone who would argue that making profit is evil, but obscene profits could be. The figures posted by oil/gas/energy firms whilst people are seeing their bill's double and treble in some cases I would argue is somewhat evil. I imagine I am similar to you whereby the increases won't impact me greatly, but I think its utterly scandalous and reprehensible for what is ultimately a common resource. |
