In the last half an hour, Pakistan have gone a long way towards winning this game. Out tail end bowling is abysmal, has been for years. Pakistan will win this game by 6/7 wickets…..

Two down already and I don’t think they’ve spun one yet.
Absolute tripe.

Crawley must be on borrowed time as well. He and Pope hit one big innings every 8/10 tests, it’s simply not good enough…..

If Pope is picked for the next test in NZ there’s something drastically wrong.
He’s wank…..

looking for England to at least put up a fight I wouldn’t rule us out just yet, as usual we’ll be reliant on Root and at least one other to set them 150+

Need to not lose any wickets in the first session tomorrow. Pissing in the wind with that 😑

Woke up. Checked score. Surprised to see us nearing lead without loss. Went downstairs. Made coffee. Sat down. Turned on TV. Brook trudging off. Bugger.

This is pathetic. Could be a long 18 months ahead for the England test side playing like this. A shit bowling attack and a talented but brain dead batting line up.

New Zealand next, can’t see us being victorious their either…. Nope, think 3-0 to NZ is the likeliest outcome. If we do go and lose in NZ, we will see big questions being asked about the leadership. Losing to a Pakistan side in total disarray is not a good look.

Stokes himself is a massive issue. Clearly not fit enough to bowl and woeful with the bat as it stands….

The problem is we don't play on wickets like this often enough to build up any proficiency. For most of our batsmen, the sweep is their go to shot and when that's not able to be played they don't have much else. Also the Pakistan' spinners are superior to ours as they have more variations and subtle changes of pace. We are not a poor team but we are not a great team either. New Zealand will be tough but we will at least be more at home in their conditions.

Apart from issues with the bowling I can’t see this team progressing with Pope and Stokes included. Top test teams can’t be having 3 players with low 30s batting average in their top 6. I think Stokes looks finished unfortunately.

The India vs NZ test is bubbling up to an interesting finish. India need 359 to win, currently 96-2

If you look at New Zealand top 6 batsmen, they are all either pushing 40 average or above. We have 3 on low 30s. That’s a hell of a lot of pressure on Root and Brooks. Big questions need to be asked.

For me we have to give Stone, Carse and Atkinson a run in the team as we head towards the Ashes/India series, has the potential to be a really good seam attack. The question then is which spinner to pick, they’re not brave enough to just go with the leg spinner so has to be Leach. I think Smith can bat at 3 so I’d go with that, with Foakes as wicketkeeper:
Crawley Duckett Smith Root Brook Stokes Foakes (wk) Carse Atkinson Stone Leach
Cox Ahmed Potts Bashir

Why were the crowds so sparce at matches? This has been covered but apparently suggestions include Games held on working days Venue changed at short notice meaning most couldn’t get days off even if the wanted to go, as well as declining interest in long form cricket.
