On target again in the first minute, Blades fans saying it was a brilliant finish He would have been perfect for us. Wide player who scores goals. Let’s hope Vid can get back scoring a few

On target again in the first minute, Blades fans saying it was a brilliant finish Was a good finish. Stroked the Sheff Utd badge before sliding on his knees in front of the Blades fans after his goal. Some suggestion he's gone off injured aswell though

He made an off the cuff comment in an interview about playing for us and some took it as way too meaningful

If he flops in this half-season with the PL’s bottom club then a loan to the Champo would be a realistic next move. But if he makes a fist of it as it looks like he’s going to, he’ll play his way into contention in the Prem or La Liga, and good luck to him. I do reckon he’ll end up with us somewhere down the line though.

He's been left out of Chile's squad for upcoming friendlies by their new manager, veteran South American coach Ricardo Gareca. On the face of it not that surprising given his lack of playing time recently, but the reason he's given is that he wants him to learn Spanish. Says he's had long enough, and it's important for team spirit etc. Seems a bit jarring as A) I doubt he's even met the bloke and B) BBD has been incredibly popular with both the squad and the fans throughout his time with Chile, his effect on team spirit has only ever been positive. Slightly smacks of a new boss coming in and singling out a popular player to make an example of to me.

What's happened to him at Sheffield United? He's not getting on the pitch is he? Scored those two goals in his first two games and then did his hammy. Think he was back at the weekend though

Think he was back at the weekend though Ahh I was sure I'd read on X or something that Wilder was leaving him out. Makes sense, because I thought he started well for them. Whatever he does now isn't going to save them though. If he's available in the summer and we can afford it (and also remain in the Championship), then you'd think we'd fancy it? Think he'd fit a Schumacher system?

We might, and he might fit, but I’d say there’s very little chance of him wanting to sign for a bottom half Championship club despite his being a fan.

In his defence, it can be quite hard to get opportunities to practise a language when you're an English-speaker, because everywhere you go there will be people who speak at least a bit of your own language, and are keen to practise themselves. I suspect that will be the case in the Chile squad, there will be a core of players who speak a reasonable bit of English who he's fallen in with, and his attempts to interact in Spanish will be reduced to a bit of a novelty on the bus or in the pub, rather than any meaningful everyday communication. I'm sure he's been taking classes but that alone can be very slow-going in terms of getting up to speed with real-time spoken interaction. Have to see how it plays out anyway

I think the only chance we would have had was if he'd flopped at Sheff U. As it is I expect he'll get another loan to a lower Prem club, or, (less likely) fight his way into contention at Villarreal

Well for that I lay the blame firmly at the feet of his mother, she never spoke to her kids in Spanish at all growing up. Massive waste of an opportunity - and seemingly paying for it now!

I thought I read somewhere that Villareal had said he needs to learn Spanish to get more game time there hence why he had been loaned back to England. Strange as you would think if that was the case they'd want him to stay in Spain. However not a good impression if he hasn't even bothered to try to learn some. I believe Spanish is one of the easier languages to learn especially if you have family who speak it. My two year old granddaughter whose uncle lives in Spain with his Spanish partner, can count to five in Spanish, say hello, goodbye, yes please and no (thank you is a bit difficult as she says no please in English😅😅) and she only sees them once every six months.

My 2 year old grandsons mum is Norwegian and he’s already saying lots of stuff in both English and Norwegian, I had him Saturday and reading to him in Norwegian from the many Norwegian books he has , I try and learn little bits of Norwegian myself but in one ear and out of the other at my age. He absolutely loves Oatcakes with cheese and I will be getting him first Stoke top soon so the English/Stoke half is more prominent
