Christ, even Burnley are making more progressive appointments than us now!
It's probably only Cardiff who have a more uninspiring list of recent managers than us.
Oh well, in the future when clubs are appointing aliens as managers we'll probably start considering Europeans 🙄

Disappointed about that as he will have the pick of the Man City kids? Delap? Its one fit things we benefited from with Hughes a top level network , Bojan , Moses , Arnie , Shaq Affelay , Zouma , Muniesa , were all delivered as a result of it another thing our Current manager just cant deliver transfer experience or a top level network it really doesnt bode well for this summer Exactly why I can’t see why people keep suggesting him as DoF.

New level but they’ve made the step everyone should try and make with the redourcevthe appointment of a manager from the very highest level possible the key appointment where you should try and punch above your weight , see silva , conte , etc

Has assumed Kompany had been a success but Anderlecht finished 3rd which is really poor for them I think they’d been a fair way off the pace in recent seasons in fairness. Spent a lot of money on experienced plodders and it never worked. Brugge, Genk and to a lesser extent Gent and Antwerp have been the main 4 the last couple of years I think I’m right in saying.

But not actually successful either No, he hasn’t been really. He’s as good of a “name” as you’re going to get though. I do think he’ll make a brilliant manager for someone, I’m not entirely convinced that’ll be Burnley however.

Only one season but really should be dominant with Anderlecht maybe going into a troubled Burnley will suit him better, big name could give them a fillip? Jury out I think

They're rooting in the bargain basement- Ainsworth and now this guy? Remember when QPR were supposedly the next power house of football when Fernández & the F1 connected folk were plowing their money in. Recall the Harry Redknapp revolution where he went mad on expensive signings and all came to No avail as they got relegated the year after they only just scraped through when Hughes was in charge there. That was the era when Odemwingie suddenly became a surprising SSN online story! But ever since they've just remained a mediocre Champo Club who do a abit but don't spend massive and never really look like they're going to go up or down!

Just shows what a wise decision we made in keeping MON. With the restrictive selection policy of the family, combined with the short turnaround AND the dearth of available options that fit in with the family we really would have been scratching around the grotty pool of yesterday's men. It would have been Mick McCarthy, Tony Mowbray or someone like Chris Hughton. Even though I wouldn’t want any of those managers, everyone is a better manager than are clown O’Neil.

Yeah I mean Hughton is such a good manager he had a promotion capable team languishing at the bottom of the league that MON had over half a league above him. Mad Mick looked like taking Cardiff down and an inexperienced bloke easily out did him. Granted I think Mowbray is a better manager than MON, topped the league with WBA with a record points and goals scored. Don’t know whether that record stands but couldn’t see MON matching it with the best squad the championship had ever seen. It’s just not in him.

All won promotions to the premier league with other clubs. Did say, wouldn’t be my choice. Sometimes managers work out at one club but not another. O’Neil for me poor negative boring manager, fed up of hearing he’s a nice bloke. How the fuck does anyone know, because no one really knows the bloke. I know he’s the first manager stop me buying a season ticket, having one for over 20 years and being going well over 30 years. Each to their own though.

I wouldn’t trust the Coates family picking any manager and that’s not knocking them for investment, but their know how to run a club. Just think they need employ someone who knows how run a club in the modern game and leave it to them find the right manager. Unfortunately I can’t see this happening.

I know he’s the first manager stop me buying a season ticket, having one for over 20 years and being going well over 30 years. Each to their own though. I think your comment " Sometimes managers work out at one club but not another" hits the nail on the head. Looking at those clubs that get promoted, it is clear that their manager "clicked" at the club and achieved quick success, invariably getting promoted within two full seasons. Vary rarely do managers take longer to achieve success, even those whose start is poor such as Wilder at Sheffield Utd. There could not be a better example than Nathan Jones who clearly has the ability to achieve success with one bunch of players but not another. But there are many others who get promotion at one club, then struggle at another. MON achieved success at international level where he can pick from a large number and have players who turn up already highly motivated, ready to pull on their national shirt. It's a different world in the day to day grind of league football. It's the role of successful club owners/board to recognise when "it's not working" and change the manager, not give blind loyalty to an employee who is clearly not cutting in, laudable as that sentiment may seem. If sustained success is not achieved for six months, then it is not going to happen long term, and clubs should be seriously considering changing their manager, harsh as that may sound. Talk of turning a club round taking years is wrong. A good example is Leeds, a huge club, who languished in lower divisions for decades, but achieved rapid success when the right manager for the job was appointed. More importantly, even though that manager had brought success, the owners recognised when "it's not working" and got rid promptly to avoid relegation.
