QPR will this week look to speak to Gareth Ainsworth about the vacant manager’s job.
The former R’s winger, 49, is a hugely popular figure among fans and there is some support among the club’s hierarchy for appointing him following the recent departure of Mark Warburton.
Rangers want to install an up-and-coming manager with a background in developing players.
Newport County’s James Rowberry, 37, and MK Dons’ Liam Manning, 36, fit that bill and are also among those of interest.
Neither Sol Campbell nor Tim Sherwood, who have both been strongly linked with the job, are in the running.

Organised and direct with Wycombe So essentially yes

Yeah - doesn't look like some QPR fans are that enamoured by the prospect, despite how popular he was there as a player.

Just shows what a wise decision we made in keeping MON.
With the restrictive selection policy of the family, combined with the short turnaround AND the dearth of available options that fit in with the family we really would have been scratching around the grotty pool of yesterday's men.
It would have been Mick McCarthy, Tony Mowbray or someone like Chris Hughton.

I can't see Anderlecht to Burnley as an upgrade, surely?

Yes a big surprise Kompany to Burnley. Will be a huge challenge for him. Will definitely scupper any hopes of a loan for Delap. Burnley are desperate for some forward power it will be first on his list.

I can't see Anderlecht to Burnley as an upgrade, surely? Championship is stronger than the Belgian league overall but Anderlecht are top dogs in that league with regular European football He'll probably see Burnley as a better stepping stone to the Premier League

Why aren't Burnley appointing someone like Gary Rowett, since they are one of these 'dodgy foreign lot' ?

Its one fit things we benefited from with Hughes a top level network , Bojan , Moses , Arnie , Shaq Affelay , Zouma , Muniesa , were all delivered as a result of it another thing our Current manager just cant deliver transfer experience or a top level network it really doesnt bode well for this summer

Kompany wouldn't even register on the minds of the Coates family, so when looking for a new manager they have tunnel vision, thereby missing out on someone who could do us a very good job.
