My eldest son sent me a snap from a Norwegian site (I think) where this was said, but it was later removed. I haven't the faintest clue if there is something in this or not, but time will tell I guess. That was why I asked the question because I think most posters on here are closer to this kind of information than I am.

Getting him in would be a very astute deal, presumably we would just take on his wages. Maybe a small fee to Schalke who are ready to cut their losses?

Rabbi Matondo is moving to Cercle Bruge . The Welshman is already on site in Belgium to take the medical check. Loan for one season with an option to purchase

It’s no great loss really is it? I’m sure we won’t fall apart without him.

We've not been linked with a single winger this season, seems clear we're committing to the 5-3-2.

Got the impression something had clicked in his final couple of games for Stoke.
But if we are not using wingers he isn't needed, in saying that imagine his and doughertys pace at wingback either side

People can stop pretending his one and a half good games were a reason to sign him again now 😂

He certainly didn't look like football was his main sport.

Only played well last couple of games for us when he started to run at defenders with the ball.

Only played well last couple of games for us when he started to run at defenders with the ball. True but I always think it's harsh judging players on loan from January because to succeed they have to hit the ground running and force their way into a settled team and quite often are not match fit. He was also carrying an injury. Can you honestly say JPB has been any better and he presumably has stayed living at home? I was honestly surprised at the end of last season that we didn't try to extend Matundo's loan.

It was. He was crap for us. How was that a great call? A wrong call. He got fit and played well but you'd called him a competition winner by that time and couldn't back down.

I think Bayern was right though, hindsight is wonderful and he may be alot better now but when he was here he hardly tore trees up did he. He clearly wasn't right. There are similar examples of players he's backed to the hilt who've ended up doing nothing. Have they been great calls too?
