Another loan and try and negotiate the fee down a little and I’d be all for that, say we can get it down to like €3-4m future fee, surely we’d be able to afford that after the big contract cull of 22. I think it definitely worth a punt as that’ll be approx the price we paid for brown and I think we can all agree Matondo has far more potential. Agree, if he can develop his game to add to that pace, he could be a v.good player, considering he has barely had a look in the games he has had considerable minutes he has looked good for a lad who hasn't played league football, everyone needs a few games to get up to speed, that's natural Jeez, “ a few games to get up to speed”most of our squad have had 2-5 years’ worth of games to get up to speed and they’re all still scratching their heads as to how to get the stick thingy out of 2nd gear.

I’m glad he’s turned it around- but it’s frustrating when he should have seen more game time since jan- the manager seemed to write him off as quickly as folk on here initially. He has one thing we’ve been lacking for so so long- pace. He’s shown what he can do and I would take him again next season. Wouldn’t take much to take him as Schalke are in a right mess.

we should do our best to hold on to Rabbi he could prove to be a great asset now he as settled in,be a shame to see some other championship club come in and take him,we could have a very fast attack next season with hopefully Cambpell fully fit.

Rather depends on how Doughty looks this summer. If he looks the real deal, we can use our limited salary headroom elsewhere (a number 9, and a proper CDM, for instance).

He seems to have enjoyed his time with us which is strange considering he's barely played. I'd definitely take him back ahead of Clarke and at the very least, his pace would be a useful asset from the bench Not sure we can afford to spend money to strengthen the bench. Any money we spend surely has to go on nailed-on starters.

I'm not sure MON did right him off. He said he wasn't as fit as he needed to be when he arrived and then he had some niggly injuries. He looked a real threat running in behind today and was definitely fouled by CCV. A year long loan with option to buy next season would be a good deal.

Yes a loan with an option to buy would be the ideal scenario for us. Sadly, I suspect a Championship club with no FFP problems might well buy him this summer. That CCV foul denied a goalscoring opportunity so it should have been a red card as well as a free kick. If CCV hadn't have fouled him Rabbi would have been 1 on 1 with Bego and with his pace, would probably have scored or won a penalty.

Is this right- are next seasons prospects dependent on two forwards where there is no saying that they will ever be fit to play at anything like their undoubted potential?

I think so yeah! 😂 and we spent money on one of them knowing this. Of course he may be fine. But Bowyer when he was pretty much writing him off wasn’t too far from the truth with the extent of it.

Reportedly very cheap, no loan fee, small percentage of wages paid by Stoke Doesn't mean we'd get same deal in the summer though

In hindsight it was probably ridiculous expecting him to get up to speed immediately in January after so long out in the cold. Like with Bojan, it just seems to have suddenly clicked for him now he’s over the injuries and gaining confidence. I’d love to see him back here next season after a full pre season.

On here, there wasn't much enthusiasm for him to be starting then.

I didn't think it was a foul , tangle of legs The highlights on Stoke City+ show it from two angles and the view from behind the goal line looks like a foul to me. Rabbi seems to hold his line and CCV seems to body check him rather than put in a legitimate shoulder charge. A tangle of legs can still be a foul if a) one player holds the line and the other doesn't AND b) if the player not holding his line doesn't win the ball so the tangle becomes a trip.

He's one of those sort of players who can generate excitement with his pace as soon as he gets the ball, we need a few of those, so give him a try I say!

I'd be happy to have Rabbi back on loan for next season. Hope it happens - and an option to buy if it works out would be good as well. He had 3 games at the end of the season for us where he looked well able to cut the mustard.

The squad integration is a huge thing. If we are planning to do some more chopping (and hopefully some changing) a loan for someone who is well known to the club/staff/area would be helpful. He had a major injury. It took him most of the second half of the season to start playing well. The two could be related. At the very worst, he offers us pace. Campbell and Doughty may take similar amounts of time to recover. Matondo could take that pressure off a bit.

If he can give the same he did at the very end of his loan spell then financial considerations aside, let’s hope it happens.

Think we'll see a very different Matondo this season. Something seemed to click with him at the end of the season.

A season long loan would be ideal and, hopefully, we will be in a position to consider a permanent transfer in 12 months time.
