You had to feel for Norris at the end, pretty much fighting back the tears. It was a risky move to stay out but had the drizzle stayed as it was I think he’d have held on. Those last 3 laps seemed to last forever!

So disappointed for Norris and so easy to see why he would gamble on staying out. A hero to zero situation and not often one that we get to see at the sharp end of the field.

Still feel physically ill from yesterday. I’m gutted for him. Don’t forget Bojan, he’s earning an extortionate amount of money to be felt sorry for. As bad as it was for him I’m sure he’ll get over it.

As bad as it was for him I’m sure he’ll get over it. The thing is though he’s been paid very well from a young age so he’ll have never known what having our wealth (excuse the assumption that you’re not rich!) is like. It’s all relative. I’m sure the homeless and folk you see on charity ads in Africa wonder what we’re moaning about sometimes as we’re Lando Norris to them. I’m sure Norris will be absolutely gutted regardless of his income, especially as he lost the lead to that dick.

I think Mercedes were thrown because Hamilton refused to come in when they initially wanted him to, which was probably the right time to pit.

Looking forward to the next six races. Could come down to one mistake now. It's been a good season so far despite the inevitable few non-overtakey circuits. I don't think the sprint qualifying added much really. They should make them each have to drive through the pits twice over the course of the sprint race. And perhaps DRS available all the time except for the person in the lead. Or just scrap it... It’s a shite idea, only done to appease the Netflix mob I think. Nothing wrong with normal qualifying.

With the way this season has been, Turkey was an odd race. In a normal season, it would have been one of the more interesting races as it was one of those 3D chess races where the tactics would provide the entertainment for the die hard fans, but this time, it felt quite flat as I was expecting a lot more action seeing that it was a damp/wet race. I think what did it was the "water blasting" of the track which gave more than usual grip in the conditions, which seemed to nullify the race.

Agreed. If they do persist with sprint races they should be nothing to do with qualifying. As an aside, I think the current qualifying format works quite well, although it was fun in the times when they had virtually a completely different car for quali 🙂

I think it's Verstappen's title to lose now. 12 points ahead with 5 races to go and the next two circuits should benefit the Red Bull more than Mercedes. That said one engine blow up or tyre failure could change everything.

They get paid well but he started racing when he was a kid, I’m sure he’d have given up all of the finances to come across that finish line first. His dad is apparently worth a few hundred million. I don't think he's too bothered by the money so yes you are 100% right, he would give up his career earnings for the glory of a GP win.
