The early red flag at Monaco pretty much got rid of any possible excitement as it took away the one mandatory in-race pit stop. For tracks where it's very difficult to overtake, the teams should have to run all three tyre compounds during the race - so at least two pit stops. Or add one or two mandatory stops in addition to the tyre stops based on the overtakeyness of the track. Not ideal I know but it would mean you could keep historic tracks like Monaco and add at least a touch of excitement. The only solution with the existing size cars is to do it as a time trial event. So do the usual qualifying to set the positions. Then on race day starting with 20th on the grid they get 3 laps going out one after the other. Fastest time for 3 laps wins. Could be exciting as you get down to the top 6 with pole then getting the chance to beat all the times posted. I await to be told why its a wank idea π Worked it out myself. Rain π§ π

I suppose smaller cars is a safety issue, although they could do a few laps in Karts. I'd watch that. But, I also watched this last race, so I'm pretty much an idiot.

Nice to see Norris taking it to Verstappen. I hope the outcome doesn't Deter him in future races. I only saw the last three laps as I completely forgot about the race. So, I just watched a youtube replay of the Norris/Verstappen incident. I don't know enough about all the rules so I don't know where to assign blame. Does Max need to allow for Lando to take the outside going into the turn? ...was it seconds later when Max squeezed Lando onto the grass? Anyway, good win for Russell and Mercedes outlasting the rest.

That one is 100% on Max.
I donβt see this friendship lasting much longer, theyβre the two quickest drivers on that grid by an absolute mile.
Next season is shaping up to be a belter.

Anyway, good win for Russell and Mercedes outlasting the rest. Martin Brundle on commentary seemed to think it was Max's fault as he veered to the left and didn't leave a car width for Norris. The stewards also gave Verstappen a 10 second penalty for it so they obviously agreed.

So after a couple of years of laid back and seemingly mature dominance, Max is back to his dirty old ways now someone is up and at him. I used to think it was personal between him and Lewis, but I was wrong. In equal machinery, Lando will have to grow a pair and race like Hamilton and be prepared to put down markers, otherwise Max will walk all over him.

I always want the Brits to do well but just can't warm to George. Still want Lewis to do well especially now he's getting on a bit but veering towards Lando due to local (edit: to where I live) connection.
