I really thought that was a 50:50. Verstappen saw Hamilton go left, MV moved to block the left, then LH went right and MV turned in not caring if LH was there when he must have known he was.
Both parties could have backed out of it, but neither of them would or did. MV came off worse (thankfully he is OK though). I thought the penalty was harsh and probably only imposed because of the consequences of them banging wheels

Could Hamilton have moved in yes did he move towards Max no. Max thought Hamilton would back off so he cut in expecting the space to be there it wasn’t. Seen a lot worse done deliberately that was just two drivers not backing down.

Bonus 25 pts for Hamilton just when the title race looked to be slipping away.
I think the penalty decision was about right. There's no way Hamilton would have deliberately chosen to do that as he had no way of knowing whether his car would escape undamaged. They both go off, Verstappen is quite happy. And in the end Hamilton just about won which makes the 10 seconds pretty accurate as a penalty.

Seems to me like the incident was the exact opposite of the Shawcross incident with the the action versus the outcome. The tackle was a foul, but got a red card because of the injury. The coming together between Hamilton and Verstsppen was deemed a penalty but the outcome saw points for Hamilton and non for Verstappen in an awful outcome. I guess it’s always a tricky one, but do officials judge by the deed or the outcome? One of the continual debating points which makes sport interesting.

Agreed. Racing incident for me. Harsh penalty I’m on the same page. Could Hamilton have moved in yes did he move towards Max no. Max thought Hamilton would back off so he cut in expecting the space to be there it wasn’t. Seen a lot worse done deliberately that was just two drivers not backing down. Hamilton was trying to tighten his line but he had understeer due to the over-speed he was carrying. It's the kind of incident that would never of happened 30+ years ago as it would have been a certain death manoeuvre. Safety in cars is now at such a level that drivers feel invulnerable and therefore feel they can push the limit everywhere. On a slow corner, Max would have spun and there would have been no action taken against Hamilton. The fact that the collision happened at Copse, has to be taken into consideration as the consequences of a collision there are and were clear to see. On reflection, I think the punishment was fair. Other thoughts; Max has now learned that he cannot disregard other drivers (especially Hamilton) by going into tight situations with a don't give a fuck attitude. It's been said many times that young drivers only gain fear once they've had a big accident. Christian Horner is a dick. Hamilton has psychologically damaged Max, but at the expense of his "perfect driver" image. Max is correct that Hamilton's celebrations were "unsportsmanlike and disrespectful", but it's a shame that Max was the one to say it.

Max has a short memory he's ran plenty off the track so if I was him I'd be quiet.

Just watched Horner's interview with Channel 4 after the race and he's acting like Hamilton deliberately drove Verstappen off the edge of a fucking cliff

I would be embarrassed to be declared the “winner” of that farce today, not a huge Hamilton fan when he talks but he was right with his comments today saying that the only reason they did it was too satisfy sponsors and get paid, he hopes the fans get a refund

Wow. Max just took himself and Lewis out at Monza. This has been a great race. Ricciardo should have an easy go now.
That was scarier than it looked after watching the replay.

That incident i reckon is down to poor race track design. I am no expert on F1 but had the bend not been so poorly designed (bumpers and instead was flat so max could travel off) and the pit exit lane so close to the bend that incident would not happened.

I may have to rethink it being a Ricciardo cake walk. It's anyone's race now I think. Bottas has done an amazing job coming up through the traffic...and you still have Perez snapping at heels as well.

I used to really like lewis when he burst on to the scene, his early appearances on top gear, etc.
But now he’s a graceless, classless cunt that takes himself way too seriously with shit hair that talks with a faux American accent.
No offence.

No offence. Yep agreed. Far to outspoken in many matters, some that that have nothing to do with him. He very much picks & chooses. Speaking out against drivers for not taking the knee was my enough for me. Drivers should be entitled to do as they please, didn't mean they were being racist by not doing what Lewis demanded of them.
