Another little stadium track. When will they reopen the banked bends at Monza or put the bus stop back into Spa. That's the sort of thing that would put the excitement back into F1. Yes I know it's dangerous but they get paid enough.
Seriously a real drivers track is what's needed, one where a good driver can make the difference instead of a precession of car make races.
Get rid of the wide run off areas that are really just cheat mode, Perhaps a timed rev limiter for leaving the track confines or something else that stops the short cutting and stupid overtakes that are doomed without them.
It's why I love my simulator I can drive a 1967 Mustang around the Nordschleife or put a Nascar around the Top Gear test track and when I crash no one gets hurt.

... Perhaps a timed rev limiter for leaving the track confines or something else that stops the short cutting ... Surely there's something automatic along those lines that can be done. Could refrigerate the run-off areas to massively cool down their tyres. 🙂

It used to take 2 or 3 laps to clean up your tires after a mistake now the race director has to ask them to give places back that they gained with one. There is no incentive to stick to the track confines. Another thing that makes my blood boil is the diving down the inside , forcing the other driver from the track . It was called T Boning when I drove RC cars and was punished with a Black Flag. If I have to listen to Coulthards bullshit on how "He" was entitled to go for the gap for much longer I'll cry.

That phrase reminds me of another favourite, "there was contact in the box and so he was entitled to go down".

Coulthard reminds me of Quagmire off Family Guy, I’m sure his jaw just keeps on growing. Nobody would be able to overtake him these days without clipping the jaw!

Congrats to LeClerc and Ferrari. Recorded it, wasn't going to start watching at 0100. Pretty uneventful with a few exceptions.

The Mercedes W12 Pogo Stick looks a bit faster but still a handful on the bends. Still it is getting to the finish which is more that the Red Bull.
Ya got to be in it to win it.

RIP Tony Brooks, the last surviving F1 race winner from the 1950s. He would've won the World Championship in 1959 but didn't believe in taking 'unnecessary risks' so took his car to the pits to be checked after his teammate crashed into his car. He won the first F1 race he entered after being a last-minute replacement, missing the first practice and learning the track on a Vespa. A good video retrospective and interview here: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/61313801

Looking forward to today's race. It's probably a good bet that the daily afternoon Florida random quick bits of rain will be making it interesting...or not.

Blimey…we got the Sky hours before the race coverage and it was unwatchable.
Some stuttering fool in a swimming pool with a ‘mermaid’ by him. Ted? Ken?

I flicked back over a bit later to find Martin Brundle prostituting himself to get absolutely anyone to talk to him. Cringe is the word.

Congrats to RB. Will like to see Ferrari improve straight line a bit. I think we're in for a close season regardless.

Pity Lewis was hit early on giving him that puncture his race pace today was a massive step up for Mercedes. No ones fault imo just a racing incident.
Shame for Charles as well always shit when the car breaks while you are winning.
We could have some very exciting racing to come with what looks like 6 cars capable of winning races.

Some interesting politics going on with some teams wanting an increase to the budget cap this season due to inflation. Interestingly and not surprisingly, the bigger teams seem to be the ones in favour of an increase. Alpine are one team against it, saying they allowed for inflation. Horner reckons some teams might have to miss 4-5 races. A couple of weeks ago, the Ferrari boss was saying Red Bull may already have exceeded the cap (I don't know if it was tongue in cheek). I like Alpine's stance on this one. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/61551759

Let them argue for next year if they wish.

The eu tracks don't have the glamour factor that the Asia and US ones do. Monaco aside they look the same. They need an upgrade to keep up.

A cap is there for a reason and it's not as if the teams are unaware of it. Look what happened to Saracens in Rugby Union once they were found to be bending the salary cap rules, it should be no different in F1.
