So you wouldn’t like to see President Corbyn. Or maybe King Corbyn is better, got a bit of a ring to it that. I can’t think of anyone better suited to the role. A man of impeachable integrity, the highest moral standards and a wisdom Solomon could only dream of. What’s not to like. Having Piers Corbyn as Princess Margaret.

are you suggesting that we codify our constitution? personally i like the archaic nature of the statutes, conventions, judicial decisions and various treaties, im sure somebody much more intelligent than I would know if combining these together would weaken any individual entity as a random fact there is only ourselves, israel and new zealand dont have a codified constitution Be interesting to have a discussion as to what should/shouldn't be enshrined I think.

I think we should just phase them out along with the house of lords.
I've never met a "Royal" or had any dealings with one. So they have no meaning in my life. I just see a rich family having a party while I struggle.
Their life of "Work and Service" is one that any person would jump at. Holidays, Banquets, Shows, Parades while basking in luxury. The spoilt little brats that are Andrew and Harry just show how little they appreciate what they have and how little they care about US the people they are supposed to represent.
I don't hate them. I just think they are a link to a past that no longer exists , like our Empire.
We don't need to have a president or anything else. An ELECTED PM is sufficient. Answerable to the people not born into a cushy job for life.
Funny as it seems I think Charlie will be a good King as at least he cares passionately about things and voices his opinions. I hope he gets more involved with Normal people than the Queen ever has. Not since 1955 has she been here and even I wasn't born then.
How anyone can claim to be a Monarch of a rich country and stand by while people are having to use food banks to survive without saying something is beyond me.

I’m happy to have a monarchy and don’t have a major issue with the royal family as things will never be equal however that’s a cracking and very sensitive post. I do think though that they do some work with some not so fortunate. Bang on in respect to Andrew and Harry.

I like your assessment on Charlie, but when he becomes king he will no longer be allowed to voice his opinion, although the Queen does have ways of "letting it be known". I have met Charlie and was impressed. I expected not to be as a boss of mine was invited to an embassy reception in Argentina and was unimpressed, but it was a casual not official event and Charlie was relaxing and having a good time. When I met him it was an official fact finding event. I found him very well informed and knew what he was talking about. He pumped me hard with questions, particularly on environmental issues. I was impressed and grew to understand why he has such strong loyal supporters. I think William has inherited his strong commitment to duty from his grandmother. Whereas Harry I think has suffered from the stresses of Royal life and the loss of his mother at a young age. Just guessing.

Hmmm, I see the royal nonce accompanied the queen to and from her seat for today's remembrance of Phil the Greek.
It looks like operation rehabilitate is kicking off. Expect a few nice puff pieces in sympathetic press outlets over the coming months until he's back in the fold and his fondness for paedo mates and paying off victims of abuse is called overblown reporting...it's coming, the royals must not be questioned.

Being born to rule is such a fucking ridiculous notion you have to worry about the mentality of the people that support it. Nonce Andrew being a perfick example.

I can’t stand him he’s an arrogant nonce but taking that away it’s rememberance for his father so he’s a right to be there. Bad choice in my opinion by the queen though to have him more involved than he needed to be.

I agree but he had to enter by the less public entrance no press at that route and as you say he walked his mum into a church so I've no issues at all.

The fact that he accompanied the queen to her seat was a very public and obvious way of him saying that he thinks he has paid his dues/been treated badly (I suspect the latter given his notorious arrogance) and wants back into the fold. It also doesn't reflect well on the queen's decision making, but he is her favourite child.

I see the sweaty one is under further investigation (by the media, at least) for some alleged bribery to secure passports and other favours for a Turkish 'legitimate businessman'.
It makes you wonder how much of this stuff goes on and is known about but buried because it suits an agenda, right up until the point that to keep on ignoring it would make those doing so look ridiculous? Given that corruption in high office appears to be endemic in 21st century Britain, probably quite a lot would be my guess.

While I am not looking to capitalize on any potential passing, I do think that once the Queen has 'moved on', we really need to consider whether we want to continue this charade. It's medieval at best and downright despicable at worst.
Let's move on.

Just seems the obvious reason why Harry has visited The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met the Queen on Thursday after flying into the UK, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed to the BBC. The couple stopped at Windsor on their way to The Hague, in the Netherlands, for the Invictus Games. www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/uk-61114969.ampNothing to see here.

Makes you cringe, doesn't it. Other countries must look at us and think we're stuck in some infantilised version of a country. Why? because he’s worried about his mums health and that she may not be around for much longer. The difference between him and us is that he’s got to show his emotions in public and have his every move watched and analysed. Put yourself in his shoes. If he came across as not being emotional the press would no doubt portray him as cold. Believe it or not i’m not a royalist but they’re a big part of this country. I just don’t get the hate towards them (with the exception of Andrew). I just don’t get people wanting to cancel any part of history.

It's not his feelings about his mother I'm talking about, Cobham, that's perfectly understandable. It's the endless fawning sycophancy, and in this case, childishness of the papers which is so cringeworthy.

I’m sure Chas probably doesn’t want the attention right now but i guess that’s the price they have to pay good or bad depending on what the story is.

A jewel laden hat, getting a lift to a ceremony (which basically told poor people to fuck off) in a £3M custom made Rolls Royce.
This madness cannot and should not carry on.
