The buzzard finally found time to have its photo taken. It was on the perch for about 15 mins according to the amount of videos, looking for voles. Attachment Deleted

The buzzard is overlooked a bit for me. I think they are a fantastic bird of prey.

First Chiffchaff of the season for me today down at Doxey Marshes. Spring is on the way. Saw one singing away today on my lunch walk. Saw a couple of Bullfinches yesterday morning on my run, different areas to the last 2 sightings, seen more this winter than for many years put together. Got a Robin building a nest in the bug house next to the patio doors, damn fool.

Sunrise with a Red Kite. The common house kite as it's called around here. Lambing in full swing at the moment so rich pickings for the Buzzards and and Kites at the expense of the unfortunate young.

Noticed a Sparrow hawk sitting in our garden last night, beautiful thing, on another note I was chatting to the wife the other night and she mentioned that she’d read they were putting up a few owl boxes where we live, I said oh really where?? She replied no idea but probably up a tall tree....I can say hand on heart that’s only the 4th thing she’s said that’s made me laugh in 30 years of marriage.
Not sure if it was an intentionally funny reply from her though or a fluke.

They come out with some classics, mine once said 'Aren't trees clever, how they grow around where lorries travel down the road'

When all the small birds go quiet or disappear you know whats around. They send groups of Wigeon Teal Lapwing high into the air.

Not my picture but someone else down on the Weaver. When the hunter becomes hunted Sat on the canal side last week watching a Shag fetching fish out, ridiculously funny as some of the fish were massive and no way they’d manage to swallow them.

They are definitely a costal bird maybe over time the odd one has strayed to a lake or inland water system but not very often. Cormorants on the other hand i saw 15 on some water locally a couple of weeks ago.

Second Osprey returned to the nest in the estuary recently and first egg has been laid, usually there's three but historically two usually survive. Worth a look on the Dyfi Osprey project live web feed.

Growing quickly, parents aren't going into the nest to feed now, just hanging on the rim
