Definitely a great Egret. A mate of mine here saw the pic and knows the feathered locals very well 👍. He's put me right a couple of times on mis identification especially with the cormorants. Guys as you know. I photograph all time amd also work with RSPB. Firstly cracking photo. Well done. Id like to confirm tho. What you have there is a Little Egret. First yes the black beak means its one. Also Little Egrets have black legs and yellow feet like in the photo. GWE as you say have yellow beaks and yellow legs. They had a piece on Winter Watch on Egrets last night showing the three Egrets we get. Ive never managed to photograph Cattle Egret. The rarest of the three for sure. I know a few sites they have been seen though. Cheers. I got a couple more shots today on the beach and you're spot on. Black legs, not a great egret. I'll download them and put them here shortly.

I almost dont like to call them Little Egrets as they are not that little really. Been some Glossy Ibis's reported on Anglesey.

I've only ever seen 1 snow bunting, top of Ben Nevis during June, where snow was still lying

Is anyone taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend ? It only takes an hour and then you send your results to the RSPB. We've done it for the last three or four years in our garden, but it's usually only sparrows, blue tits, four or five magpies etc.

May also go along to Marbury Park to see if the Bitterns make an appearance around sunset

I know Winsford flash has sadly been hit. Awful stuff. Hope you see the Bitterns mate.

Looked like a dead Swan far out. A Gull wasnt moving aswell. I know its been reported in Warmingham which is not far. Lesser Spotted Woodpecker sighted at Marbury today aparantly. They are rare.

I can only imagine the time and effort that goes into these photos.
But you get your rewards.

Same for me and the hills. It's bloody hard work reaching the top of a mountain, but the rewards can be sensational.

Ive been blessed to get some wonderful shots. Todays shots are proof of how difficult it can be. Wildlife certainly most of the time does not make it easy. Male and Female Long Eared Owls and yes you may need to zoom in. They occasionally move to front of trees and show well especially if this sun is out. This morning they had no interest in doing so. Sleeping because they had been out all night active probably. God i love Wildlife 😆
