I found this comical. Ive always said im a wildlife photographer not just birds you just see more birds.
Im not a twitcher as such really. However ill get to point. At Flashes Sandbach this afternoon around 4pm in the view point. 2 other guys were there. Next minute a chap ive got to know from going down there comes into the view point and says to one of those 2 guys. "Come on were going" This guy says "where". The bloke replies "South Stack area Angelsey Elegent Tern has been spotted and its landed Cemlyn Lagoon". So off in the car they went.
I mean thats dedication. Alot can happen in 2 hours what happens if they get there and its gone.
These same chaps got up at 4 last week drove 3 hours to Bempton Cliffs to look at 1 Black Browed Albatross that had landed.
They dont go with Cameras just have a scope and want to tick the birds off.

One of the pitfalls of living where I do is having to put up with these damn things, well, maybe not this one or its brother/sister but the parents. This is only 4 weeks old!!. Attachment Deleted

Two green woodpeckers in our garden first thing this morning, grubbing for ants on the ground by the looks of it. They're a rare visitor usually and I've never seen two together before, presumably a pair...real treat, striking birds.

I don't have the camera or the talent to manage such a shot

The flying anteater as its known, only see 1 or 2 a year and never in the garden Where I live is quite woody so I hear them (and owls) quite often, but rarely see them and never a pair like that. Was a nice start to the day. I googled them afterwards and I didn't know that a green woodpecker's call is referred to as a yaffle call...which will make a lot of sense for those of us who grew up with Bagpuss

Well a first today, sure a white headed black bird has just landed on our lawn, stunning looking bird. Managed to get some close up photos on my phone but no idea on how to put them up in here.
