…. don’t do photos, but today have seen - a Cassowary, Pacific Bassa, Yellow Bellied Sunbird, Bush Curlew, Rainbow Beeater, Sulpher Crested Cockatoo & everyone’s favourite Aussie bird - the Kookaburra Saw Steve Irwin’s missus talking to one (on the tv I hasten to add) Absolutly adorable. I’ve been Steve Irwin’s zoo, nice place. Realised whilst there that pineapples don’t grow on trees.

Visited the London Wetlands at the weekend, lots of birds about, although not all are wild, this one is a strange one, a Southern Screamer, apparently its the evolutionary link between birds, ducks and geese

Sorry, missed it, hope you had a good day. Yes, he's still doing it, but he's now senior warden at the Mauritian Wildlife and is mainly based at Round Island (uninhabited) about 20Km off the main land, as part of the rewilding project after man moved on and virtually ruined it, rats, mice, goats etc have all been removed/eradicated over the years, and they've managed to grow some plants that were down to the last one or two in the world, I get some great videos and photos sent here.

I do need to get to Marbury Park do some stuff round there as a few say quite a bit drops in. Do you think Bittern are a wierd sort of animal the way they act and are not easy to find and the fact they boom? I do. Majestic in flight tho.

I was being watched whilst doing a bit locally tonight. Amazing, stunning pics, Alsy - as always. They're so professional. You really must arrange to have an exhibition. Did you see the Sennell tonite (p.3)? I thought of you. Apparently Peak Wildlife Park at Winkhill near Leek (I'd never heard of them) are creating new 'walkthrough' zones enabling people to get closer than they could before to wildlife, eg. red squirrels and other British native species, plus penguins & lemurs. I bet you & your camera would be in your element. Perhaps the place could then feature some of your fabulous pics on their website.

Ill be really Happy if i can get the Barn Owl hunting on Camera. Still having no luck with that. Ill keep trying though. You're very welcome. On their www it looks lovely - I'll add a link to it as an edit in a mo. It looks like a great place for a lovely day out for anyone interested in wildlife but it would be especially nice to take young children there - they've even got a zebra! They also have a great scheme whereby you can pledge to sponsor a 'food box' - you're quoted (very inexpensive) prices for different boxes for various animals or birds, with a note of the boxes' daily menu contents. If visiting children wanted to give a bit of their pocket money to sponsor a box jointly with their parents, it would be a great way to encourage a greater love of nature for them from an early age. Still not got one on camera.

Still not got one on camera. Neumman's flash , I run around there quite regularly, I've also spotted a Barn Owl down Marsh Lane and once just after passing Heron Farm on marsh Lane, a heron flew past. Neumann's was where the 3 spoonbills were as well last year, at the top left hand corner of it, on the other side of the walkway is a steep drop down to a stream, often look down and see the kingfisher sitting on a branch looking into it. It's a 2 mile walk around both the flashes, Neumann's and Ashtons, and there is a path down the middle separating them. Enjoy, it's a great day out with loads of areas all joined together northwichwoodlands.org.uk/visit/index.shtmlFree car parking at Barons Quay multi storey for 3 hours, or Cumberland Car park on Leicester street is £1 all day, then walk a few yards into Carey Park and around to get to the flashes. Don't head towards the Anderton boat lift or Marbury Park to park, they've just shut the road for 3 weeks as you head out of town to it, on soot Hill just after the Winnington swing bridge, you'd have to go via the A559 and into Comberbach visitnorthwich.co.uk/parks-green-spaces/

Our run tonight went through Carey Park and the edge of Neumanns flash, one of the ladies said she recently saw 2 barn owls early morning in the area Ringed in purple, part of Carey Park, its a hill with cows in, but quite grassy in places, left of the path is large hedgerows, sounds ideal barn owl hunting ground. Nuemanns flash is to the right, the top of the two lakes split in two
