Anna Maria Island a couple of years back. I wouldn’t have minded but he threw a towel over my favourite lounger before he got in the pool. My knowledge even suprised me a couple of nights ago. I didnt know about a 4th species of Heron. I knew of the Grey Heron over here. The Purple Heron and the Night Heron. I didnt know of the Great Blue Heron though. I thought it was a Grey Heron but apparently the USA and further south dont get Grey Heron. They get Great Blue ones which look similar but i read have a longer neck and diffrent beak. You learn somthing new i thought to myself. If you have the right attitude every day is a school day.

One thing I loved as we left that part of Florida were the Sandhill Cranes. Four feet tall and imposing. I grew up with Rod Hull and remember what happened to Parky so…telephoto lens.

Real battle royal going on here all morning. The two gull chicks wandering around in the road in our small cul de sac with the parents attacking anything and anyone that gets slightly close, meanwhile gracefully circling just above roof level is a beautiful red kite on the prowl for a snack. I've had to leave for work but my money is on the kite. Last year when these places were being built a couple of the builders stuck the chicks in a sack and took them the 250 yards to the sand dunes, within 20 minutes they'd walked back to the site crossing the main road into the bargain!. The gulls have already wounded 2 of my 11 neighbours and the guy who works in the post office next door, sooner they either learn to fly or get eaten the better.

Red Kite reported 20mins from me today. Anyone else notice the buzzards cant be arsed. I see alot of them when out taking pictures. The amount of hounding they get by other birds and they always just seem they would rather fly away. Could have some more shots of this one as it seems to be hunting and living locally. how to find my screen resolution on windows 7

Noticed more magpies of late, least favourite bird as they tend to kill chicks.

They're a couple of weeks old now and about the size of a duck!.

You get some awesome shots… shows the benefits of a good character, a good eye and a decent piece of photographic equipment (I assume this wasn’t taken on the camera that ended up underwater recently). I’m sort of depending on luck and circumstance for a wild bird shot but did manage this yesterday. A raven on Bidean nam Bian.
