It didn't take long before Trump forgot all about the friendlier attitude he talked about after the shooting, and got nasty on X. Like I said, “unity” is a great line for the Republicans. They can continue being as inflammatory as ever and as soon as anyone says anything to them, they’ll talk about how dangerous they are being. Cue birther conspiracies again.

There are now calls for him to resign the presidency and I have to say I agree, if he isn’t fit too run he isn’t fit too be president right now, It looks like he'll have to go sooner rather than later, they are both swing states ...

It's gonna be Harris though isn't it. Don't see anyone getting close other than maybe Newsom, and he hasn't said he's running. She's well ahead and I would imagine the Democrats don't want this drawn out.

I’m really curious as to who will be the VP. I’m quite excited as on Wednesday, I’ll be sworn in and far happier to vote for Harris than Biden.

It’s incredibly practical though. With a little one, we can all go through the same passport control now. Makes life much easier.

Well if I lived in the USA I would vote for Harris over Trump. In fact Keith Harris and Orville would be better than Trump.

Not at all. I'd prefer the Democrats put someone up who has a decent shot (pardon the pun) of keeping him out of the White House though. I'm not sure Harris is that person.

Harris is a complete nincompoop but it is irrelevant anyway really. Even if she was a standout candidate there on merit it wouldn’t matter as substantial numbers of voters will see her as DEI and protest by either not voting or going for the fat old white guy.
It’s why forced DEI is fucking stupid and counterproductive.

Democrats need to hope the anti Trump sentiment is still high, nobody voted for Biden last time, they voted against Trump! If those millions of anti Trump voters stay home this time he’s going to easily win!

I don’t see Democrats worrying about her being a DEI candidate simply because she’s a black woman to be honest. They may not vote for her because she’s about as charismatic as a bed tick, though that never hurt Biden.
