www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-gossip-4936573“Alex Aldridge has done a great job (with Doughty). He’s a player who Alex has tracked for a long time. There was interest in him from both sides of the Old Firm and from teams who are at the top in our league as well. “He felt a good fit, he felt Stoke was a good fit for him. I think he sees the opportunity to come here and play as well. He was impressed by the size of the club and the training facilities and everything around the club.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tom-edwards-stoke-new-york-4940338“The amount of interest we had in Alfie spoke for itself. Premier League teams, top teams in Scotland, bids last January from Premier League teams and he didn’t chose to leave. Carried on wanting to play games for Charlton.
“Everyone say how quick he is, and people think he’s got something special. There were nine clubs interested this window.
“He’s been very smart in terms of choices he made. Michael O’Neill did a really good job and sold him the vision.”

Getting to grips with the pace of our play? And those one, twos with the yellow boards are like doing a one two with half our team - ie it comes back to you at groin height

Great to see he's progressing though despite the sarcastic comments. Nice that we encourage him after what was a quite serious injury.

Is there any way they could get on the bench in place of Vokes and Brown??? 🤔

From the look of that video you’ve got to hope so? I mean when he signed it said he’d be fit for April. That’s 7 and a half weeks away. Seems reasonable if it all goes well?

There’s no rush to get him in the side and I can’t imagine he’s close to an u23 game yet either from looking at that if that was his first time out in months. Take it easy with him and build him up.

Bit of a surprise that we managed to attract him ahead of Bournemouth who are well set to challenge for the next couple of years. Was it QPR who were the other English team he spoke to? Mind you, he must see a relatively easy path into the team here with soon-to-be 32yo McClean his only competition. www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/19095224.two-weeks-search-new-cherries-boss-continues/?ref=twtrecCherries did agree deals with two clubs over the transfer window, but saw the players in question opt for moves elsewhere. The Daily Echo understands an offer of around £750,000 was accepted by Charlton Athletic for midfielder Alfie Doughty, who decided to join Stoke City instead.

"he’s already had one setback before he even got off the bed" What's that about? I don't know but I'm not overly enthused about having a team full of crocks next season. Campbell out for 9 months Doughty out for at least 7 months Allen not long back after 8 months out and the age of 31 Mikel aged 34 who can't last more than half a game. Fletcher 34 who is constantly out with niggles. Fox who's done both his hamstrings within a few weeks of each other. Collins coming back from a fracture.

It is a twattish snipey interview from Bowyer but he is right. That comment just stood out a mile though, hopefully he's overplaying to be a full on twat.

Hopefully he was just trying to put teams off gambling on him in January But it seems if we wouldn't have pulled the trigger, 4 or 5 others would have. We claim we've given him the most stringent medical possible, so just got to hope for the best. He does seem massively reliant on his pace
