Can’t he play for 3 clubs under this covid rule thing? Nothing to do with Covid. Fifa changed their rules at the start of the season, applies to anyone anywhere - and it has a lot of clubs around the globe cursing fifa. Its very much a temporary change due to covid

He wasn’t being written off. He wasn’t playing to the standard we need and we had an experienced goalie come in. I wanted him dropped for sure but I wouldn’t say I had written him off. He’s still 20? It would be silly to write a goalie off at that age. No one is writing MON off either 🤦♂️ You’re right. Slagging him off might be more accurate.... Or just saying he was playing badly and letting in stuff that he shouldn’t have been. Which he was.

MoN was also guilty of letting things in that he shouldn’t like letting Vokes in the side. Ffs, we don’t have any alternatives. Brown up top maybe, but he does need to drop him yes, but we aren’t exactly swimming in strikers. Has it dawned on any of you that O’Neill may be making a quiet protest to Coates by showing we need to bring in a striker????

Bursik is the man in position and right now deserves to keep his place. When Davies is fit it will be up to him to displace Bursik which will only be achieved by Bursik losing form

But he knows perfectly well that if it was up to Coates a striker would already have been signed, maybe more than one. FFP dictates that we can't buy the quality we need.

Buy, no prob not, but maybe a loan? Coates has done the managerial Merry go round enough and O’Neill up until the injuries was doing very well with the squad we’ve got. There’s time yet though to see if a striker on loan materialises. I hope to god it does 😆

Coates has done the managerial Merry go round enough and O’Neill up until the injuries was doing very well with the squad we’ve got. There’s time yet though to see if a striker on loan materialises. I hope to god it does 😆 O'Neill has stated on occasions that he's no fan of loaning players, unless it's with a view to buy. The reason being that he was sent on loan as a player all those years ago and he hated it. But beggars can't be choosers and he may have to bite the bullet eventually and do it anyway. The reason that he won't be sending quiet messages through his team selections is that he sees the chairman on a weekly basis, often more, and has a direct line to him. So anything he wanted to say he can say face to face or on the phone. As I indicated if he sent out a team to lose with a poor striker in order to send a message then he wouldn't be having the team's interests at heart - and you can't have a manager or any employee doing that.

Must admit I was very surprised they got rid of Andy Quy, I thought he was part of the furniture here. That was part of the problem...... I always thought Quy was well thought of. But the improvements in the keepers since is remarkable. Is it a case that Quy was a good coach for ‘old fashioned shot stoppers’ and not the new ball playing aggressive keepers? The less said about penalties too the better.

Joe got away with one today. The Blackburn "off side" goal went under his body. Very fortunate it was disallowed but he more than made up for it with a couple of very good second half saves when we were under pressure. His shirt to lose, in my opinion, when Gunn and Davies resume full fitness.

I'm not generally one for controversy, but if I'm to make a statement that I feel would be unpopular it'd be that Davies should get the shirt back when he's properly fit. Bursik has done really well in the circumstances, but ultimately I don't think he's been as good as Davies was before his injury and so if Davies looks like his old self in training he should be back as our number 1.
