Very good performance tonight.
Commanded his area well and the punch at the end was brilliant.
He’s growing in confidence with every game and his distribution is brilliant.
Well done Joe.

Not to be a huge naysayer but he’s faced arguably two of the worst teams in this league for his clean sheets. Two decent sides have put 6 past him. I’m hoping he’s turned a corner and it can only do his confidence good but I fear better opposition might catch him out. Also the defence looked much more solid tonight which is a big help. Negative I know but there should be balance. 😂🤷♂️

He did well tonight not much to do in terms if saves but he was confident in the box when he needed to challenge for the ball

Kicking is excellent, his confidence is growing and most importantly you can clearly the see the defenders trust in him growing. If he comes through Saturday that's 3 big powerful sides he will have faced which should be a massive boost for him.....

Faultless on crosses and coming out to sweep up behind defenders.

The punch near the end when he clattered our players as well as theirs ,thats what you want to see a keeper making it their ball

He can only play what’s in front of him and to say that he alone conceded 6 in 2 games isn’t entirely true as it relies on the defence too. Neuer conceded 6 in one match the other week but doesn’t mean he isn’t a good keeper.

Suppose we’ll see in the coming weeks how he fairs.

Solid tonight, came for crosses, good handling when under pressure. He’s doing well considering he’s been dropped in at the deep end at just 20 years of age.

He does some things very well- he's really impressive at coming off his line and anticipating danger, kicking seems pretty good too. I'm a bit concerned about him actually stopping any shots though: everything on target seems to have gone in so far. He reminds me a bit of Ronnie Sinclair, who somehow went through his whole stoke career never making a mistake or a save.

He was excellent last night. He did what he had to do and came for several crosses that relieved the pressure off the defence. However he had one straight forward save to make. Very promising but let's not forget hes let a couple in that he really should have kept out. Hes a young keeper who hopefully will get better and better

I d 2nd that! - gets some distance on his clearances, no chance of feeding opposition midfielders when he puts his laces thru it.

Really pleased we have kept him in goal, it will help in giving him more confidence and it is starting to show now.

One big difference between the first 15 games this season and last (all under NJ) is how all three keepers & the defence is really protecting the six yard box, which is obviously where an opponent is going to create high quality chances. By this time last season our six yard box was awash with (orange) goals, but this term there's been just the one goal and a couple of low grade attempts. Almost everything in the 6 yard area is being claimed or cleared. We just need a bit more positive variance to stop so many low quality efforts going in from the edge of the box and out wide.

It looks like the opposition were exploiting the gap between the centre backs last season - maybe having a back three has nullified that to an extent - having a defender in the middle seems to have pushed the points of attack wider.

Thought his handling was top notch, very assured during that last 10 minute bombardment. One or two Butlandesque kicks but that’s being picky. Well done Joe.

Very good at commanding his area given his age. Kicking is good too.
Holding judgement on his shot stopping ability though. He definitely should have saved Norwich's first for example.
Fingers crossed because he'll be tested more in the next 2 games.

MOM for me last night and a much better all round performance.
His command was excellent and something we've not really seen in the previous games.
So hopefully he's learning and can carry that on.
Great to hear he wants to keep Davies and Gunn out of the side. It might seem unlikely but it's exactly what he should be thinking and saying.

Really good point. We've forced the shots further back and wider. For every yard wider you push an opponent's shot location, you decrease their likelihood of scoring by ~10%. You get similar benefit per yard by pushing shots deeper. Practical application of xG.

I think this is turning into a brilliant story for a young keeper who no-one could have imagined being in this position right now.
It shows how young players can develop when given the opportunity, some do, some don't, but this lad looks like he is capable of growing quickly. Its a question of Watch This Space.
I'm sure he will be keeping his England place and then it might be a case of keeping hold of him. He's worth more on the market than Butland now I reckon.
Who could have thought that even 12 months ago.
