With Southampton potentially not interested in taking Gunn back and Joe unable to play for anyone apart from us and Doncaster it does mean we have a high chance of three 1st team keepers having started the season with none. Is there even a chance we may loan Davies out if Gunn doesn't go back? If we can't send gunn back then surely keep him as 3rd choice as he's not our keeper Yeah, if Gunn costs the club no cash week by week that seems reasonable, if not though and it would be likely that's the case then is it good use of our limited resources?

I think that through circumstances Bursik finds himself at least a couple of years ahead of schedule. He is still a young lad and in goalkeeping terms very young. He will inevitably have a drop in form and it will be important to have quality in depth to backfill when he has to be removed from the firing line where necessary. As others have said, we haven’t seen a huge amount of shot stopping, but he has good positional awareness, is alert, good with his feet and not afraid to come for balls. As he gets more experience these attributes will increase further and I think we have a very solid keeper on our hands.
Assuming Davies and Gunn get fit soon, it’s funny how we’ve gone from despair to real optimism around the keeping situation in just a matter of weeks.

Like it should be everywhere else on the pitch if he's in form he stays in, it shouldn't even have to be a decision MON has to make right now.

Makes me laugh reading some of the things on here, After two games he was written off on here, now people are considering keeping him as number one once the other keepers are back. Same with MON, a couple of draws and boring performances after losing two of our main strikers and he is stinking the place out and is being compared to Pulis. Wish people would reserve judgment sometimes and look at the bigger picture. He wasn’t being written off. He wasn’t playing to the standard we need and we had an experienced goalie come in. I wanted him dropped for sure but I wouldn’t say I had written him off. He’s still 20? It would be silly to write a goalie off at that age. No one is writing MON off either 🤦♂️

He's a winner this lad. Love it! Reminds me of Pickford a bit. Hope he makes less mistakes though.

Hugely promising start - better than any recent keeper at coming for crosses, at least as good as Davies coming off his line and the best we have had with the ball at his feet. I am still unsure how good he is at shot stopping from mid to long distance. He struggled with this in his early games and hasn’t been tested recently. He may need some more time on this aspect of his game compared to Davies. Surely we have to let Gunn go though

Donny have got another keeper - so looks like his only option to leave for regular games at the end of January is now closed off (not that it looked likelyhe'd be going anywhere now anyway)

I would not want to risk anyone with any sort of existing knock or strain but with a week either side of the Leicester game I would put out as strong a team as possible particularly with experienced players like Allen, Clucas and Mikel needing game time.

I’d play Clucas. Not sure Allen needs the game time? He looked fine fitness wise in the last game and I think less is more with him. No need to play him too much now and risk him burning out later. I’d only play Mikel if it meant he didn’t start the next league game (which he shouldn’t do).

Bit risky if you ask me.

I'd missed that rule change - maybe so then! But it's probably a moot point anyway. Although it will be interesting to see if Gunn really does see the season out in the stands while we pay him £10k+ for the privilege

Jack had several loan spells to build up his match experience Definitely give him a new contract

I’m not sure what I’d do to be honest. In an ideal world I think if we can get a Rotherham, Wycombe, Coventry, QPR club interested in Bursik on loan I think we send him out as I do think Davies is better. If we can send Gunn back we play Bursik over Davies.

Not at fault one bit today, thought his handling and decision making were top drawer. Deserves to keep his place without a doubt when the other two return.

Nothing to do with Covid. Fifa changed their rules at the start of the season, applies to anyone anywhere - and it has a lot of clubs around the globe cursing fifa.
