Good win in the end wasn't it against a quite competitive Welsh team.
Final against either France or Scotland.
Pivac isn't doing his long term job prospects much good - that's 7 defeats in the last 8 games isn't it ?

Is it me or are we trying to play a Springbok style game after they beat us in the World Cup Final?

I think you'll see the best England next week against France. Eddie will big it up like a World Cup final and they beat us in the 6 Nations. Atm, we seem to be just doing enough to win, but that'll need to be stepped up massively next week. The French have also rested a host of players tonight so they're gonna be fresh and at it.

If they can stop doing the random French shit their team regularly pulls out they're a cracking side to watch now. Not feeling confident tbh but the England team really is a machine now. I'm still disappointed that Japan didn't come along for this nations cup thing because they were bloody brilliant at the world cup.

England team v France on Sunday. By all accounts the French are supposed to have an understrength team for the game.

Hopefully we play a 15 man game rather than the turgid stuff we've managed thus far. We have the players to do it.
Paddy's have England -17, may be worth a go given the team news

Well looks like we just scraped home thanks to Owen Farrell. Still a win is a win, particularly against Les Bleus.
Looking forward to watching the 6 Nations now (and watching Sale Sharks in the Premiership).

Very poor from England yesterday and I can only put it down to underestimating the inexperienced French side. Even our line out looked a mess at times which you never see. Also, I'm not just saying this because Farrell had a shocker but why doesn't Ford kick the goals when he's in the team? He's a more reliable kicker from what I've seen... oh well, it's nice kick up the arse for the 6 Nations I suppose.
Also, get Sam Simmonds in the sodding squad Eddie you stubborn git.

Eddie's named the England starting line up and finishers for Saturday's Six Nations opener against Scotland at Twickenham.
15. Elliot Daly (Saracens, 47 caps) 14. Anthony Watson (Bath Rugby, 46 caps) 13. Henry Slade (Exeter Chiefs, 34 caps) 12. Ollie Lawrence (Worcester Warriors, 3 caps) 11. Jonny May (Gloucester Rugby, 61 caps) 10. Owen Farrell (C) (Saracens, 88 caps) 9. Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers, 104 caps)
1. Ellis Genge (Leicester Tigers, 23 caps) 2. Jamie George (Saracens, 54 caps) 3. Will Stuart (Bath Rugby, 8 caps) 4. Maro Itoje (Saracens, 43 caps) 5. Jonny Hill (Exeter Chiefs, 4 caps) 6. Mark Wilson (Newcastle Falcons, 19 caps) 7. Tom Curry (Sale Sharks, 28 caps) 8. Billy Vunipola (Saracens, 56 caps)
FINISHERS 16. Luke Cowan-Dickie (Exeter Chiefs, 26 caps) 17. Beno Obano (Bath Rugby, uncapped) 18. Harry Williams (Exeter Chiefs, 18 caps) 19. Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints, 85 caps) 20. Ben Earl (Bristol Bears, 8 caps) 21. Dan Robson (Wasps, 7 caps) 22. George Ford (Leicester Tigers, 72 caps) 23. Max Malins (Bristol Bears, 3 caps)
Not much to quibble about there, it looks about as strong as possible.
It should be a close fought Championship this year, with England, Ireland, and a resurgent French team all looking possible winners.
A recent Guardian article had the odds
England7/5. France5/2. Ireland43/10. Wales16/1

Reckon the tournament will be wide open this year as home advantage is usually massive but without a crowd it might work more the other way. If France click they might romp it. Hopefully Scotland can put a decent tournament together because Hogg and Russell are absolute quality on form.
