It's tight up the top. We're 8th (FFS!) and yet only two points off second. This is the sort of season where somebody fairly average ends up getting promoted simply through remaining consistent.

I thought Chester had a better game Campbell and Fletcher taken off in preparation for midweek game- lost some threat up front, but some of the play unrecognisable from the poor performance v Barnsley Great result Think Vokes was the wrong choise for Fletchers replacement we missed his tanacity at getting at players abd winning things back, id of gone for Powell instead and put Brown upfront If Powell isn’t 100% then no need to risk him Interestingly MON didn’t bring on an additional defender e.g Batth We gifted them a goal,

I like Tymon but you learn that when you're 8. Rubbish. Players make mistakes at the highest level. Thought it was poor and needless. Couldn't put it down to fatigue either.

It was pace and movement up front that caused them the problems. Then minus Brown & Campbell meant the threat was gone.

typical stoke. Excellent for 65 minutes and then got complacent. Good learning opportunity. We could have put 5 or 6 past them. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Yes Agree. Harsh. Expecting too much from young players. Yes, was a clanger needs to learn from it and build on the positives he has shown. I thought the substitution (Tymon for Campbell) was a too negative and invited pressure unnecessarily. Vokes is no Fletcher either. . Agree he's a poor fall back option hasn't got the guile as a hold up player and is hopeless trying to press.

Vokes's inability to win anything or hold the ball up meant we were constantly on the back foot as soon as Fletcher went off. He really does steal a living.

A good win ,a good game, always a good feeling on a Saturday night and it's better to start the season nearer the top 6 rather than the bottom 6.

When was the last time Ince threatened anybody? Ince did alright when he came on the other night in helping us to see the game out, much better option than Vokes though a completely different type of player.

Personally I think if davies throws himself at it he gets there, but I can see why he didn’t. And slightly misjudged it he walks. Yeah that’s what I mean by ‘but I can see why he didn’t’

When was the last time Ince threatened anybody? Well he definitely got 'in there' at Crystal Palace when his mate Eric Cantona drop kicked that arsehole Palace supporter. Not sure in the subsequent 25 years or so though

Brentford flatter to deceive but it was still a good win. They have a strong midfield and some strong offensive players. The full back caught the eye with his forward runs but couldn’t defend for toffee. They still have the same weakness in goal and their new centre forward looks like he is out of his depth.
They will threaten the play offs but aren’t the force of last season.
