I'm truly astounded he's done as well as he has.
I think he's made one mistake that has lead to a goal in what, 14 games?
When did we ship Andy Quy out of the door? Was it when MO'N came in?

It was, was one of the first things he did. Never understood where the myth around Quy came from and it's something I've been questioning for years and obviously getting the stick that came with that. But people would just accept despite the evidence showing that there was something up with the goalkeepers. As much I rate Bego, he was often rooted to his line, couldn't kick and couldn't save penos..............Jack Butland. And then anyone involved in signing Haugaard needed to go.

He seems very head strong, considering his first year at the club couldn't of gone any worse but then to come in and do the job he's doing, it's commendable. Long may it continue This. He really is first class and is rapidly turning into one of our great signings (appreciate there haven't been many contenders for that title of late, mind). From a signings point of view, Nathan didn't do too badly. Curious that he brought Davies in and then refused to play him. If he had, and had played Powell and Campbell, he'd more than likely still be in a job here. Thank fuck he didn't.

Bloody hell I'd forgotten all about him,he had an amazing ability of avoiding contact with the ball, even when it was directed straight at him.The term stealing a living has never been more appropriate.

He was horrendous for the first goal. Rooted a yard off his line and didn't even attempt a dive for a passed shot he still could have chucked his hat on. It unfolded in slow motion right in front of him as well, it's not like he was caught unawares. Unusual because he's actually been pretty good sweeping up behind the defence, but for some reason he dropped a bollock with it tonight.

Nothing to say on 9 clean sheets in 14 games? Nothing to say on him being awarded our player of the month? Nothing to say on our form since he displaced Jack at the back end of last season?

The same as when we played with Butland and didn’t have the manager making terrible tactical decisions?

And you say agendas aren't real 😂😂 Pathetic. I can't abide the ritual tossing off of Davies for making routine saves. Second half he makes saves he should make, they were nothing special. He was woeful for both of their goals especially the second. Butland would have got pelters in the same situation.

Thank goodness we've stuck with Davies and not Jack! Several outstanding saves yet again!! He made at least two brilliant saves in the second half but I thought he could have done better with both goals. In particular the first where if Jack had been rooted to his line like that you’d have given him pelters. However, it would be as churlish to highlight those mistakes and not mention the great saves as it is to ignore the mistakes. PS I don’t blame him for the goals that lies squarely at the door of Tommy Smith I just think he could have done better.

As I said all along, when goalkeepers are in good form, the other keeper needs a bit of luck to get a chance which invariably is the misfortune of the 1st choice. Butland probably left thinking he might as well sit on the bench on the premier league than here. Now he'd be back in here and Davies misfortune is Gunn's opportunity.

Got to feel for him, waited patiently, took his chance with both hands and the moment we bring someone else in this happens. Who'd be a keeper?

He was very nice to my little lad, who worships him and sent him a lovely private message on his departure, completely unprompted. He helps an exiled little boy support Stoke when all around him support Burnley, Leeds or Man United so I do wish him well for sure. My point wasn't really about Jack though per se and more about goalkeepers. Many a comment was made about Gunn coming in and taking Davies place and I said numerous times that he was happy to come in and fight for a spot in the team. Keepers know only one can play and that if a new keeper joins a team doing reasonably well, that he'll have to bide his time to get a chance and that often that chance presents itself as a result of misfortune for the other keeper. That has been the case here. Gunn got his chance because of misfortune for Davies in the form on an injury. It's up to Gunn now to take that chance, assuming of course, Davies won't be available for the weekend. If he does well, all of a sudden it's Gunn's shirt to lose.

Was his error last night because of the injury he picked up? Looked like a bad piece of goalkeeping but maybe the injury didn't help?

It wasn’t a criticism about Butland, it rare on here that you can see past his poor form and see about what he does for the club (admittedly first hand). I completely agree with what you say, from MON interview sounds like a ?CL injury which could do him for the season, which would be so cruel. Let’s hope Gunn is up to it.

Hope he doesn't have a bucket handle tear of the meniscus! That's what I have right now and I've not been able to straighten my leg for 4 weeks. Did it rather innocuously playing tennis but with a similar reaction to Davies when he hobbled straight after that late corner at end of 1st half. I've got my op on Friday and am looking at 6-9 months recovery! Life as a keeper is cruel. You are only ever going to be the villain in reality.

It seems to have happened during the corner right on the stroke of half time. The Swansea commentators were alluding to it when he came out to smother the ball through Souttar was caught out on. Hard to tell if that was it. Not easy to make your own mind up when you can’t see the full game and rely solely on a cameraman. It could well be as you said, or that it was just getting worse throughout the half.
