Could have been a lot worse, Skip. I'm sure Davies is gutted but he'll be delighted that he should be fit by Christmas.

Could've been worse. I was fearing it may be a full season job?
Still maybe the length of time to justify bringing in a free agent though.

Surely it's best to leave signing a replacement because if Gunn gets injured we'd get special dispensation to go out and get a better keeper on loan?

We have Blondy and I guess Bursik could be called back from loan. If something happened to Gunn Would they allow special dispensation? As we have Blondy and a possibly recall? (Would not be ideal having 2 youngsters)

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-press-injury-live-4653007How is Adam Davies?MON: He’s got a medial knee ligament injury, sort of estimated time frame could be four to eight weeks. Hopefully it’s the lesser amount, four weeks’ recovery, but at this minute in time he’s gone for a scan, his knee is immobilised and we just hope he makes a speedy recovery. He’s certainly going to be out for the next couple of weeks and probably longer. A big set-back for Stoke considering how he's done since coming in?MON: He’s done very well at the tail end of last season and starting this one as number one. He’s faced a different challenge now with Angus Gunn coming to the club and it’s unfortunate for him with the timing, having just established himself and now finding himself on the sidelines. We’re lucky that we have Angus coming in and hopefully Angus makes a speedy recovery and we have competition for places going forward.

Davies injury is a massive blow and upsets the continuity of our defensive unit. Hoping his return is the front end of the 4-8 weeks out suggested.

Not sure, think you have to have no fit keeepers before emergency loan is allowed I thought you could be green lighted an emergency loan if you had no recognised keepers to provide first team cover for injured first team keepers, ie they've got full first team experience which Blondy wouldnt have but Bursik would now have if he was recalled.

I think the big concern is Swansea was the best of Gunn’s last two league performances m in the other he let 9 in , to meet he looks shell shocked , decent keeper but the yips have to be a concern

Not so long ago when crowds were allowed to watch games, after one cup game Adam Davies was being castigated for a mistake against Brentford. Still he bided his time & when Jack injured (allegedly) his neck from picking the ball out of the back of the net too many times, he stepped in to blossom into the promising keeper that a few thought he was prior to Brentford
Same now for Angus Gunn, shot to pieces on the back of what happened at Southampton yet prior to that a goalkeeper with confidence. Hopefully with time which sadly a lot of people dont seem to give players these days, he will get back to the prospect he was.

He needs a solid performance tomorrow to hopefully get him back on track and start to rebuild confidence.

Gunn could not have dreamt of such an immediate opportunity. It’s his chance to keep the jersey and rebuild his career, as unfortunate as it is for Davies.
