If Butlands arrival results in Hennessey dropping to third choice at Palace could Davies go into the Euros as the Wales number 1

Got to be a good chance, especially if Hennessey is out until February anyway - then has no chance to play.

What a twist that would be?
Jack butland being the best thing that ever happened to Adam Davies

I put it on the other thread, 13 games since MON brought him in, 9 clean sheets and just 5 goals conceded. A confident keeper that has the trust of the defenders in front of him is priceless.....

He seems very head strong, considering his first year at the club couldn't of gone any worse but then to come in and do the job he's doing, it's commendable. Long may it continue

Don’t see the fuss re the second save. I would expect anyone to make it?
The one before that where their player had cut in and it was going in the bottom left however was a really good save.

Such a breath of fresh air to have a keeper without poppadom wrists and glued to his line.

I know a keeper who wouldn't have saved it. And that’s where I think people are judging from tbh. But the one before I thought was class and he did something Butland definitely wouldn’t in the first half. We had just had a corner and they countered immediately, there was absolutely no one on the right for us and they were in and he was there quick as a flash on the 18 yard box and stopped what should have been an almost certain goal.

If Butlands arrival results in Hennessey dropping to third choice at Palace could Davies go into the Euros as the Wales number 1 The form he’s in, and if he continues to perform at the same high level. You’d have to think he’d be in with a shout on merit, never mind anything else.

He really is first class and is rapidly turning into one of our great signings (appreciate there haven't been many contenders for that title of late, mind).

Don’t see the fuss re the second save. I would expect anyone to make it? Yes but that's just it. We haven't, in recent times, had keepers who you could 'expect' to make saves of that nature. Now, we have. That's a major step forward.

He made a couple of great saves today.
BUT he had a real chance to score a goal when their keeper came up for a corner and it went straight into Davies hands. I was screaming for him to have a long punt at goal. That would have been hilarious if he had taken a pop. He was way too professional there and held onto the ball.
GIVE IT SOME WELLIE LAD

I agree with you that the first save was better, he had more to do to push it wide from the angle it came in at. The 2nd was also a good save though due to the deflection it took as it came through the crowd of players.

Excellent again today. Pulled off a couple of decent saves, the one at the end in particular was excellent goalkeeping to anticipate the deflection. Inspires confidence, commands his 6 yard box, vocal with his defenders, not afraid to come off his line to mop up or to pressure strikers, excellent distribution too and certainly not a bad shot stopper to boot! Think he should have been in real contention for the Welsh team anyway considering his form and the fact that Hennessey barely plays between internationals nowadays.

Well done to Davies and Powell. That team illustrates one of the problems with all teams of the week. The best 10 outfield players get squeezed into a formation which is often very different to the formation each player actually played in. I don't know how you get round it but only the keeper is actually guaranteed to make the TOTW in the position he actually played that week.
