Reminds me a bit of Nathan Jones. Got all these overrated, overpaid footballers managed by a bloke who’s done nowt of note in the game. Saying that we were as bad under Capello etc tbf he did get us to the world cup semis Beaten by the first half decent side they came across however. I wouldn’t exactly call it an achievement. If they’d been beaten by any earlier it would’ve been a dismal failure. |

Not really much to like about that game, England were awful, the ref was awful and Denmark weren’t really much better.
If we have any ambitions of winning the Euros they would sack Southgate tonight, he’s such an uninspiring character and the negative dross he’s serving up at the moment is completely unacceptable with the attacking talent he has to choose from.

If you look at who we actually beat to get there & the fact we lost to Belgium twice over the tournament I do actually think Southgate fluked us to the Semi Final. To actually get to the Semi Final stage, & who remained in the tournament after that, if we were ever to win the World Cup again that occasion was surely our chance. I honestly think Southgates well over rated, & is starting to look abit out of his depth. Lack of discipline on and off the pitch is starting show the cracks in his management IMHO |

He's lost his way hasn't he? The semi in Russia seems to be high point and it's going steadily down hill from there. Southgate seems to be blinded by the young talent coming through and forgotten what got us to the semi in the first place. Admittedly some players missing would have probably got a different result tonight. The start line up looked fishy and very negative for a home game, we rely on players who aren't playing well at club level. It's a shame as I wanted him to do well and we should have pushed on from Russia. He just seems panicked into making things as negative as possible. Can't see the FA swinging the axe just yet though.

The ref seemed to give a yellow if his Danish scream-ometer went off. A whole load of dodgy decisions and some not punished at all. Doesn't detract from the shit we've just dished up though. |

Maguire faced with too much responsibility in a makeshift defence will get himself sent off. It could all come crashing down tonight. Denmark, with a number of current and recent past English based players in their team, to win. 0-1 in their favour by an Eriksen wonder free kick. Nearly predicted everything correctly about this game, though I mistook the nature of Eriksen's goal. That said it's a wonder that he got to kick the penalty at all, because there wasn't any foul. England was poor, Denmark just that tiny little less poor, which makes them deserved winners. Or maybe not even that, but England deserved losers. |
