how are we all? running first pub quiz at the sisters pub this evening, could be a real funny night full of botches but there is free chip baps at half time, tbh im quite looking forward to it, zero anxiety and i have enjoyed building the quiz! 8pm start at the iron monkey in castle How has it gone flea? I host a weekly pub quiz, been doing it for a few years now, can be challenging at times but it’s a very laid back affair on a Sunday evening. Any round ideas would be welcome! It went really well Don’t know if you use the speed quizzing system but we have invested a bit into that and it’s great! Happy to share any of my rounds with you! Had 7 teams in this evening some of which were staff but everybody enjoyed it and hopefully they bring mates with them next time! All I did was swear at them and had some fun! Although the argument about the smallest planet in the solar system was funny

Quite correct but predictably people went with Pluto what have you got against dwarfs ? dont you start too!!! cant wait for tonights inevitable arguments! not known stress until i sit and read through the questions i have created to make sure there cant be more than one answer, music rounds are the worst with half of todays music being covers and samples of classic songs!

In my music round it’s half a point for guessing the artist, half a point for the title. Sometimes I do covers, where instead of naming the artist they can hear they name the artist who performed the original. It’s great if you can find covers that are completely different than the original, rock instead of pop for example.

A good quiz round is the wipeout round.
10 question if you get one wrong you loose all the points in that round.
So basically only answer the ones you are certain about.

I’m not in - postponed for a month at the last minute. Got a call telling me this - poor woman sounded terrified. I said ‘no problem these things happen ‘ and the relief in her voice was palpable. She expected me to be an arse and start shouting - what’s the point ? So I’m now in ( hopefully) March 11th. It’s buggered up work as I’d done a handover with my staff - now I’m not away but have a lot of leave to take.

Well I’m sick to death of this weather, spring needs to arrive pronto to get me out of this rut of finishing work, getting home, having a couple of beers, eating tea, shower and bed. Repeated for as long as I can remember. Woke up with some kind of bug as well, throat, chest, head, shits, aches and pains😫 and then to have 80% of the work day filled with meetings all makes for a thouroughly miserable start to the week. Someone cheer me up please!😀

In my job I supervise office staff, caseworkers and stewards and am ultimately responsible for thousands of members. I’m still a daft bugger with a hobby though. 💀

Kept an eye on this thread for a while, but never posted. It's quite reassuring knowing there are folk out there who are also having similar sort of frustrations as me!
I am not a winter person and this year it feels like it's dragging on, could really do with some signs of spring appearing soon. Things are a bit all over the place at home, as we are still doing renovations after moving a couple of years ago. Working from home basically means sitting on a chair somewhere where it's relatively warm or quiet!
My father in law has recently gone into a hospice which has hit my partner quite hard, and means we are also taking care of mother in law. It's been difficult finding quality time to spend with the Mrs and my lad as we've been so busy. We are also all sleeping in one room because of the renovations!
I'm clinging on to the fact that the renovations will get done, so we will be more comfortable at home. Father in law is in the best hands and being looked after and spring/summer WILL arrive at some point. Could just do with Stoke winning a few as well to cheer me up, the useless feckers!

Ayup lads, hope you all ok. Just a note for any of you who maybe take meds for anxiety/depression. Aswell as my daily 20mg paroxetina I was also prescribed sleeping tablets, I found myself relying more and more on them and could be taking 4 or 5 in the evenings (should only have 1), just to make sure I slept through. Anyone with anxiety knows the feeling of being awake in the middle of the night when things are 100 times worse!!! Anyway, for the last couple of weeks I have been taking CBD oil before bed (5 drops) and now I have ditched all my sleepers. ![(thumbsup)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/q4Mqf5MqRwT9PY8UitYa.gif)
