Wow this is a shock. So we've nabbed him for free and made a profit on him?

Wow this is a shock. So we've nabbed him for free and made a profit on him? If there's anything in it, maybe that's his salary for 2 years. Maybe he could opt out of the additional year before July 1st?

Wow this is a shock. So we've nabbed him for free and made a profit on him? Absolutely not. We can barely give players away. Apart from Collins we’ve given everyone else away for nothing haven’t we?

If this is true then at least one of Clucas or Allen needs to stay for experience, unless MON has some good aces up his sleeve.

He's currently quarantining according to Pete Smith, so I'd say this is likely bullshit. I don't see that quarantining makes any difference as to whether or when he can sign for another club. If he is going to another club he'd still need to sort out his affairs in the UK and would need to see out his quarantine first. The mechanics of the transfer (apart from the medical) can all be sorted out online.

More than one source seem to be going with it - not to say it's true, weird as it is!
In a high-caliber deal, the Nigerian player John Obi Mikel is on the doorstep of the Kuwait club, to support the ranks of the first football team
The Al-Abyad management reached an official agreement with the player in a free transfer deal, after his disengagement with Stoke City, who played in the last season, The signing will be for two seasons for a sum of nearly $4 million, as the most expensive deal in the history of the Kuwaiti League.
Mikel, 34, has a distinguished biography as one of the most prominent late midfielders, as he represented Chelsea, Middlesbrough, China, Tianjin, and Trabzonspor of Turkey, as well as Stoke City in the first division of England, and represented his country in 91 games during the period from 2005 to 2019.
The Kuwaiti administration is making unremitting efforts to strengthen the ranks of Al-Obeid, as it reached an agreement with the Moroccan Al-Mahdi with mercy, coming from the Qatari league, and is also putting a number of super players under its microscope.
In a related context, the management of the Kuwait Club is arranging to set up a training camp in Europe, starting in mid-August, in preparation for the competitions of the new season.
Kuwait is linked to an important confrontation at the beginning of the new season, against Jordan's Salt, back on September 13 and back on September 27, in the AFC Cup matches, "the semi-finals for West Asian teams".
It is worth noting that Kuwait officially dispensed with 4 professionals, namely Spain's Dembele, France's Sissoko, and Ivorian Juma Said, along with Tunisian Ahmed Al-Akaishi.

He's currently quarantining according to Pete Smith, so I'd say this is likely bullshit. What has that got to do with anything? Basically I was told the other day that Mikel & Etebo had both refused to return to training. I thought this was odd that Mikel would refuse so took it with a pinch of salt especially with how much MON loves him. Instead of posting it on here or tweeting about it and getting the rumour mill flowing I approached Pete with the info to see if he knew anything. At the time he said he hadn't heard anything other than that he'd been on a political mission in Nigeria. I've spoken to him today again with the links to Kuwait and if that could tie in with this "not returning to training" rumour I heard, to which he replied he's in quarantine. Yes the deal can be done whilst he's sat at wom with his feet up, I'm not debating that, just merely commenting on what I've heard/been told/believe myself.

Would be surprised if it's true unless they're offering stupid wages and he's going for a last pay day?
Would make the decision to let Cousins go look daft if he did leave though.

Agreed although if reports are to be believed he isn't actually on a great deal here however the prospect of MON not starting him every fucking game makes me happy haha. He's got something to offer for sure but MON just can't resist overusing him.
