1-0
Nice goal courtesy of an excellent run and cross from a certain M Bauer.

Ex U18/23 captain Lewis Banks signed a new contract at Sligo over in Ireland and their fans seem to love him.

Must say I have seen the highlights of a few of the U18's games, apart from the shooting, I was very impressed. The closing down and general play looked very good.

I'm sure with some of these development loans we've seen players come back and play academy games in between playing for the club they've been loaned to.

When they’re that age as well it can be passed off as work experience too.

The u23s play again at home tomorrow.
So it’ll be interesting to see who plays and who doesn’t.
Can’t imagine it’ll be too different from last week bar Verlinden and Shawcross.
So a good chance for some of the younger ones to play.
Will imagine Porter will be with the first team?
And maybe a striker?
Do we know who was with the group yesterday?

As for Porter. Would be good to see him involved at some point even if only for 10-15 minutes.

Mikel must be coming back soon, but if Porter can get on the bench in the next match, that has to be positive for his motivation.

Out of curiosity what sort of midfielder is Porter?
Could he slot in to the 2 or is he more of an attacking midfielder like Powell?
