Emre Tezgel has scored a hat-trick against NI for an England team. Not sure what age group it was. U16. I've noticed some Turkish fans on twitter are getting quite excited about him as he seems to be eligible for them too  |

He's a local lad as well - from Forsbrook near Blythe Bridge. That, I suppose, might make it a bit easier for us to hang on to him until he is old enough to have a pro contract.
He sounds like he has great potential - but the number of youngsters who don't go on to make the grade is very high so we mustn't get too ahead of ourselves.

And, if MON can maintain (and hopefully, improve) his reputation for giving youngsters a chance, that could also help to fend off predatory advances from bigger clubs. Some clubs do seem to act as a magnet for youngsters far beyond their league status - it is up to MON and the Academy staff to try to ensure that Stoke become one of that number. |

Looks like Watford have signed a young centre-back that we didn't offer a scholarship to. Maybe we DID offer the lad a scholarship but he declined as he preferred going to a Prem club? Seems a reasonable choice. |

Surprised about Paul Cooper more than anything, but there is a few decent keepers at that level competing for time. Verma, Melbourne and Nash worth it too I'd say. It's difficult the shift from u18 onwards, most get scholarships but that drastically narrows down afterwards |
