Can't say that I'm surprised by any of that feedback. He was rubbish.

From that site: I was told at the time by a very good friend and Stoke season ticket holder, that the only reason he was 5th choice centre half at Stoke was because they didn't have 6 centre halves. 😂😂😂 Thats a cracking gag I am using that in the future, they are bottom after 3 games having lost them all so I don't think you are going to get a well rounded assessment, I can also remember a thread on here on Harry Souttar a couple of games after his return from Fleetwood with people claiming he should be sold as he was never going to be good enough.....

A product of Nath's 'We want a kangaroo that can jump 20ft and can punch' recruitment strategy. Ability to play football: apparently not important. Wonder if we were ever in for Pinnock, his partner at Barnsley, who their fans all said was on a different level and has proven to be a class act. Pretty sure he moved around the same time as Lindsay, for a few hundred grand more www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-barnsley-liam-lindsay-transfer-3028271“We wanted a left-sided centre-half who got on his front foot, was aggressive and could play and we felt that Liam suited our needs rather than any others. “We were linked with a lot but we knew the business we wanted. We didn’t go in for any other centre-half. Every player we’ve gone in for we’ve pretty much got at the minute so that’s been good. “For me, he was as good a defender as there was at that level – and bear in mind I worked with four of the best in terms of where we were. He was the stand out centre-half. “I was surprised he didn’t get in the team of the year but there was good competition; the one he played with (Ethan Pinnock) and the boy (Matt) Clarke, who has gone to Brighton and did superbly well. “But for us, Liam suited us more in terms of front foot, the player he is and the way Barnsley play, which is a real fluent, high pressing, aggressive side. He ticks a lot of boxes for us.”

HMS LINDSAY 😎🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣⚽⚽⚽ SUPERB ,🤣 I just read that also. It's amazing that some players manage to get the living that they do. He was atrocious for us, Bambi in the headlights and had zero concentration. He needs someone to walk him through a game and that shouldn't be the case. Prime example of a player who has got further than he should because left footed people are rare.

Its not surprising to me.
He struggled in the Under 23s for us.
Barnsley fans were not convinced either, maybe he looked a reasonable prospect in League One, but it was unanimous that the CB was the better of the two.
and maybe Barnsley strength in other areas meant his defensive duties were relatively straightforward.
Put simply, he can't defend and just switches off.

Then went to Everton and nearly took them down. True. But Nath is a mentalist. I’m surprised he’s capable of making a cup of tea without killing someone, let alone manage a club with any degree of success.

He was shit when we signed him.
He was shit when we didn't play him.
He was shit when we got rid of him.
He was shit when he scored that goal for Preston.
He's still shit.
