So we give them 2nd place, and they give us Chis Brunt! They got 2nd place over the season and Brunt been a great player for them I would be delighted he has the right character, something we have sorely missed at times and not a bad player either

If we don't sign a specialist left back I will literally implode!

I still think Etebo could come good for us as could Badou if only we could get them onboard they could be devastating for us. O'Neill very quickly made his mind up on the both of them. You're not ring but they don't want to be here and that's not the attitude we need. Both too good for this league and neither want to be playing in it. £15-20m worth of player there that we should be able to sell so I anticipate two loan deals. All part of the process.

If true? Brunt will be signed for attitude and professionalism and his attributes rubbing off on younger players.

MON will want someone he can trust in the dressing room. Brunt can be that person. We've been buying players for the dressing room for the past 4 years and its got worse not better. How's about going all out for the best LB and DM we can possibly attract to give the players a lift in confidence that the club is serious with its ambitions

Ready that article it’s more he is hoping to get re-ignite that deal, we might of only wanted him for the half a season to help out might not be what MON wants anymore

Been a decent player in his time ,but the last thing this defence needs is another ageing plodder. Need a bit of pace and dynamism. Has here been any official acknowledgement that he has signed?

I’m not against Brunt joining, as long as he isn’t expected to play 46 games and become a scapegoat and a very weak attempt at solving our left back problem.
You wouldn’t put it past the board would you? I know I wouldn’t.

Too old and too slow and we have too many players who don't play

Totally depends on his fitness
Chris brunt has the tenth highest amount of assists ever in the prem , 47. Which is only 7 behind Wayne Rooney and Eden hazard , and they didn't play for clubs yo yo ing between the prem and the championship .
Would obviously be very useful to have a constant supply of quality free kicks and corner kicks.
If he is fit , then he is a useful player .
I have no idea if he is fit or not !

Somebody said on another post that he'd only played 70 odd minutes all season. Whatever he WAS he certainly isnt the same player now. Do we never learn? Another has been, another last pay day and still a massive gap in the squad for a proper pacey left back!!

You’d imagine he’s not signing for his playing input aside from the odd appearance.
MON probably wants him for his influence and experience around the team, possibly with a view into coaching.

That thought had crossed my mind. Player coach role, being used purely as left side backup on the playing side How are we for first team coaching staff? MON, McKinley and Rory isn't it so probably room for another coach

mickey thomas was 38 last time we signed him. didnt turn out too bad as i recall I’m not saying Brunt would be a bad signing, but as much as that may be true, for every Mickey Thomas you get 5 Darren Fletcher’s, 3 Stephen Ward’s, a Michael Owen and an Eidur Gudjohnsen.
