Good player. Might be knocking on but he’s got a great cross on him. Great attitude too.

No harm in having a wise head in there. Plenty of away games could have done with him sat in midfield

I think he'll be a good signing. He's the sort of NI signing that WILL make a positive impact. Good signing I think. Strong leader I'd imagine.

As back up - sound.
As starting over 10 games - we’ve learned fuck all.

He's been a great player, never had any pace, so he should be a decent option for us. For what position has he been signed for though? I'm assuming LB which with BMI most likely gone will help Tymon progress.

No problem at all if he's a back-up to the new LB and offers the option of a good pro with a cool head for a cameo further forward.
Obvously a touch of the Stephen Wards about it - but MON knows him as well as anyone - and, as we know, MON can do what the hell he wants!

Absolutely ridiculous signing if true. 36 in December. Absolute nothing signing. We need young, fit, athletic hungry players not another one in it for a last pay cheque

Been promoted out of this league enough times hasn't he We need to move away from this kind of signing but Brunt seems to sit well with me. The last few older players we've brought in have all lost their fitness whereas Brunt seems to be playing to a decent standard still.

With a younger squad and given the increase in subs at left back and in centre midfield good addition off the bench as well as being the managers eyes and ears in the dressing room
As has been said as infinitum as first choice LB it's a big no

Campbell, Collins, Sorenson, Oakley-Boothe, Verlinden, Tymon etc will all be involved next season and what are they? 21 y/o at most surely? I really see no problem with Brunt coming in. Old, yes. But that's not necessarily a bad thing if he's making a few cup appearances and substitute appearances. It's clear he'll be MO'N's trusty lieutenant in the dressing room. Get him in imo.

I think if he’s so instrumental off the pitch then West Brom would keep him as when times get tough in the Premiership they will want that positive influence. He’s played 10 games this season. That says it all for me. Duffy was supposedly a great bloke, Ward the same. But there legs had clearly gone. I really hope I’m wrong and I’ll happily eat humble pie but for me it’s yet another pointless signing which I really wish we would learn from. P.S if he signs

The Premier League is a different ball park to the Champo. Also worth considering Ward was part of a squad that would be 2 points outside of the playoffs under MO'N... Not saying Ward was a good signing obviously, but using him as an example as to why Chris Brunt is automatically a bad signing is clutching at straws. And here's his manager calling him instrumental... “If there was a guy who didn’t have information, and was not inside the training ground or the dressing room, or The Hawthorns, or hotels that we stay in, and they counted his minutes, they’d say he did not have an important role,” Bilic said.
“But he has been instrumental.
“On the pitch when we’ve needed him, I don’t remember him putting a foot wrong.
“On the contrary, he helped us in those games big time.
“Off the pitch, around the place, in training. I’ve been around a long time, and he’s an unbelievable character – in a positive way."www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2020/07/21/slaven-bilic-chris-brunt-has-been-instrumental-for-west-brom-this-season/

Injuries also scuppering him as well. This side is crying out for athleticism and pace. Not another pensioner here for a pay day because he’s a nice guy. The idea is to strengthen the 11 we have. Not bring in 35 year olds to offer nothing. I want to see players fighting for that shirt and healthy competition not a player coming in to top up his pension pot

Every team needs good characters in the background. This good character has just been involved with a team that got automatically promoted and MO'N trusts him based on his international career. Don't want too many signings like this but I agree re Brunt I absolutely agree. Young, hungry footballers get you promoted. They're on the pitch though. Thankfully, we're on our way to having that with the youth we have. A few more additions in that aspect and we're laughing. We really shouldn't be underestimating the importance of off the pitch players though and Brunt in my view is the perfect player just for that. A better Charlie Adam essentially.....

If he plays 15-20 games then I will be disappointed but he won't will he?

He's hardly signing him to play every game and doesn't mean we won't be signing other players, younger or older.
