His goals from corners helped keep us up last season. We aren’t scoring from anywhere this season. The defense is better, though.

Why would we loan Birmingham a player? I know just paper talk but makes no sense

I’d be happy with Collins & Souttar to start all season but we need back up and I don’t think Batth is as bad as some make out

... wish BMI was still here. Just coming into some form at the left of a back three, but he has wanted to move for several years now

Ship Lindsay out not batth.
I’d be starting bath ahead of Chester myself in a back three.
Collins, Souttar, Batth.

I'd pick Lindsay on the left of the three. He's a better cd than Fox and he's a bpd than Fox. But Fox is the manager's signing, so he plays.

There no way he would sanction the sale of Martins Indi and Baath in the same window.

This depends entirely on the fitness of Shawcross.

We'd still be left with 6 for a max of 3 spots, which may become 2, wouldn't we?
Assuming Shawcross is going to play a part and Fox is largely going to play centrally while we play this way.
And there's always the chance we may want to loan in someone to play on the left of the back 3 if we don't fancy Lindsay or Fox there in the medium/long-term?
Collins, Chester, Souttar, Shawcross, Lindsay, Fox

Collins, Chester, Souttar, Shawcross, Lindsay, Fox That six actually makes sense as it’s 2 for each position with in the back 3. The central role is where we have excess as Batth, Souttar and Ryan are vying for that spot and are unlikely to be able to play on the left or the right of the 3 so it makes total sense that Batth would be the one to leave.

Batth is a great lad and character but importantly, he's a shit footballer.
If he's going, that can only be good news.
Same with Gregory.

Agreed Dave, if we are going too progress, the likes of Souttar & Collins are imperative.

As with Bruno, we can only move on players that other clubs want and who are prepared to go. Batth has barely played this season so far.
We have a surfeit of centre backs and Souttar has made that central spot, which is the only one Batth can play in a back three (given his limited technical skills), his own, whilst Ryan may be back soon to stake a claim for it too.
We will see 2 or 3 go out by tomorrow, and it is not unrealistic to think he may be one.
