Yeah I did notice that because I started to get worried he would be sent off. No idea of what the actual rules are though. I don't remember the actual incident (I dozed off at some points in the second half), but it sounds like violent conduct, such as when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball. You'd be extremely lucky if a referee only cautions, although some do, because this is clearly a red card offense. No it was Gunn he was trying to get sent off for handling a back pass to prevent a goal. Although having watched the highlights I think it was unnecessary as he seemed to have time to kick it away as the ball wasn't travelling quickly. It was about the most exciting bit of the whole match - will he send him off, where will the defenders have to line up and how on earth will we prevent them from scoring?

Punishment for handling a backpass is just an indirect free-kick. No idea why the Swansea player thought a card should have been involved, let alone a red one!

How does it work then does he have to do 14 days in isolation or can he keep being retested every couple of days?

Would Stoke be due any compensation for this being contracted on International duty? Or just Sod's law....

Interesting if we start seeing cases in the England and Wales squads now.

Ooooh. Thibaud time Got to imagine that it’s more likely to be Brown or Ince first, unless Thibaud has really been tearing up the U23s. If McClean is symptomatic though, it’s possible he’ll be out for longer and Verlinden may get a shot given the fixture congestion. Hopefully McClean did catch it away from Stoke and no one else in the squad has picked it up.

He's perfectly fine but just a bit drab really.

That's a big miss, he has been excellent recently. Very difficult for anyone to match his energy and commitment levels no matter what bayern says (and i'm sure he will say something!)

Of course he will. Because he hasn't been excellent bar the Brentford game. That was excellent from him. People's level of excellence is really low.

He'll be a massive miss. Hes a critical player for us. Everyone (apart from the obvious fucknugget) sees it and acknowledges it.

"The Football Association of Ireland can confirm Matt Doherty and James McClean have tested positive for COVID-19."
Fuck it! How can this happen? They've been with Ireland for a week and are supposed to be in a 'biosecure bubble'. After last Thursday’s 3-0 friendly defeat to England Alan Browne tested positive, was he the source? There hasn't been one case of COVID-19 at Spurs since the season started. Man City on Saturday. Fuck the internationals.
Mourinho will not be pleased...

We've got a squad full of them and they can actually cross a football. It'll be fine.

Would Stoke be due any compensation for this being contracted on International duty? Or just Sod's law.... He tested positive on International duty but, given the incubation time, it is quite possible he contracted it before he joined the Irish squad.

Ince on the left then until Verlinden is fit enough then they fight for it.
Yeah I know Ince and fight never go in the same sentence

I'm still banging on about him playing there Certainly Ince's last game on the left was a huge improvement on anything he has done on the right since he signed for us. Might be a coincidence, but I wouldn't mind him being given another chance there.
