8 cans of 8 Ace for 31.49 tonight Where are you buying these from? I feel you're not getting the best deal. Go to Metro Stores on Crown Bank in Hanley (opp. the old JJB Sports) and you can get this for around £17 quid and then spend the remaining £13 on some weapons grade dust. I'd call Trading Standards if I were you. Getting bummed there pal. You can't get a Freddo for 13p these days but will Google 'weapons grade dust' and get back to you. I take it is some kind of confectionery treat

And they are piss, it’s like drinking fizzy water which is my least favourite drink ever! On the fizzy pissness scale they are all second to Bud light. Why do we import that stuff!? I don't mind them but I'm out in the states and feel like I have solid reasons for drinking the lights. Either drinks 3-10 at a tailgate in the California sun or where the bar choice is $3 Coors Light versus $8 anything else. None of those excuses stand up back home.

On the mental health thread I'd asked what peoples first drinks were going to be when the pubs re-opened
I think hartshillbadger said Birra Moretti - tried my first one last week when Co-Op had a special offer on - bloody lovely drink.

I remember being in Sicily for the World Cup in 1990 and all they sold. First time had ever seen it and was great to eventually see here.

Whale's Tale Pale Ale 5%. Closest thing I've tried over here to an English Ale.

Just about to tuck into a case of Brewdog IPA right now Dead pony club fan myself. Dead pony club is a yes from me👍 Also worth a try from Brewdog are Hazy Jane, clockwork orange, elvis juice, double or nothing, lock down, also pale ale and of course punk! I have a Brewdog obsession at the moment and tend to order direct from them, superb delivery and cheaper than buying in the supermarkets... Happy days... I think😁👌

Reverted back to the Brewdog tins this week.
Sainsburys has an offer on the Brewdog Mix packs - x12 330ml cans for £13.
Hazy Jayne, Punk IPA, Pale Ale, Dead Pony Club - x3 of each per pack.
Done the Dead Pony Club already, onto the Hazy Jayne now.
I dread to think how much beer timber I'll have put on by the time I'm able to play 5-aside again. It's not overtly evident at this stage but the spectre of Jon Parkin looms large 😂

Had an 8.1% cherry, coconut and liquorice fruited sour yesterday, consistency and colour of blood, tasted outstanding.
Just done a salted caramel stout and finished off a mango and guava sour.
Spunked another £30 in Hopwater Cellar. Only went in for 1 can!

Spunked another £30 in Hopwater Cellar. Only went in for 1 can! I bought a load of Früli Strawberry Beer the other day from Tesco Trent Vegas. It's quite sickly after a pint or so but I bought it purely because (a) it's uncannily similar in tastes to the off-brand strawberry slush puppies I used to drink on a daily basis whilst at Fenton 6th Form College many, many moons ago, and (b) they used to sell it in The Holy Inadequate and it was always my 'I've had too many proper beers this evening so will have something that tastes like a beverage you'd serve to children' last pint. The Mrs is definitely getting sickly frambois-poweerd burps in her stupid sleeping face this evening.

That said though she's partial to a strong stout, she got shit-faced on some turbo charged stuff and that gives me the excuse to waste silly money on them. Even managed to her drinking sours now too.

Anyone else not missing alcohol? Perhaps I'm a freak. I've had two days of drinking in about 6 months... Christmas day and New Year's Eve.
Not touched a drop other than that. Not missing it at all. Alcohol brings nothing but drama.

Alcohol brings nothing but drama. I'm not a big drinker over lockdown in the grand scheme of things 4 or 5 cans over a weekend but usually stronger stuff. It's an expensive hobby when you start drinking all the hipster stuff. I miss pubs ridiculously though. I even ended up dreaming about being in one this week, my own sub-concious torturing me. Nothing Daliesque, just sat in a bar early doors, tiled floor, proper pumps, sun streaming through the windows and the locals nattering bullshit to the landlord. To the regiment, I wish I was there!

Alcohol brings nothing but drama. I cut down drastically and only allow myself a drink two days a week. And then I don’t really drink much. I’ve lost nearly a stone in 8 months. Sleeping loads better. I’ve said it on other threads but if you use an Apple Watch to track your sleep, the difference in deep sleep when sober and drinking is insane. Anyway, nobody wants to hear this on a Sunday morning.

Got a bit bored of the alternating Brewdog / Leffe routine I'd unwittingly fallen into so opted for a few bottles of Weihenstephan this week.
£1.85 per 0.5L bottle from Sainsburys at present. Not bad at all - fans of Erdinger will not be disappointed.
Quite partial to a nice weissbier - Schneider Weiss being a particular (of not ever so slightly pricey) favourite. Aldi used to do a really good replica called Rhienbacher Weissbier for £1.20 per bottle but it's sadly been discontinued.

I’ve also moved away from Brewdog (although they’ve got a few decent offers on at the moment) and have gone to Vocation. They’ve got a few beers in Tesco - trying the Tr-Hop-Ical tonight, 4x449ml cans for £8 l.
(Best Borat impression) It’s nice

A very smooth brown beer and a nice change from my usual Stout/Porter. It just goes down a little too quickly.
