Reeves doesn't know how many actual children are in private education, but tax them anyway x.com/LBC/status/1818190649947996208An even more interesting question would be: how much offset will there be to the VAT charged on fees by the VAT now claimable by private schools on purchases, and did you include this in your fully costed plans?

I would imagine they’ll be claiming every drop of vat back even down to the petrol for the 3rd eleven cricket pitch

In labours manifesto they mentioned "inequality" once but growth 50 times. Growth for who?
Inequality is the word Labour/Conservative/LibDem/Reform don't want you to mention. I'll keep highlighting it.

and they removed the proposed cap of £86000 on social care costs as well . pensioners truly shafted . Was this announced yesterday mate? The £86k cap was just like Boris' 40 new hospitals (and unicorns). All she has done is carry on kicking it into the long grass.

It really is unbelievable that 2 different governments will allow energy bills to rise despite the continued scalping the energy companies do with the population. There is no evidence prices need to rise whatsoever apart from enabling profiteering from the most energy intensive period of the year. They are no different than the tories with this

When tax rises come just remember that a wealth tax paid by the richest would cover most of the shortfall. The same peoples who's wealth is equal to the poorest 70% of the country. And when Starmer was asked about taxing them pre election he said "we can't afford to".
So if workers taxes go up and there is no wealth tax. Just remember a decision was made to tax workers and not the wealthiest.
That will tell you exactly who this labour government serves.

Labour have chosen pensioners to take the hit, most of them vote Tory anyway so no great loss as far as they're concerned.
4D chess, grown up politics from Starmer, deal with it folks.......

Labour committed to tearing up planning laws and building 1.5 million homes over the next 5 years.
But provided we keep handing out 1.2 million immigration visas per year as we have done in the last 12 months, what's the point?
There are 10 million more of us than there were in the year 2000.
It's bat shit crazy.

People seem surprised? This lot have always been Tories in disguise. More fool the chumps that voted for them. What the fuck are they meant to do? 🤣 The winter fuel thing was clearly done to sweeten the Tories biggest vote winners and won’t be needed by most of the people that get it. There’s a 20 billion black hole in the budget so something has to go. This seems to make sense.

Do you know what would probably improve the economy overnight and mean less need for more tax revenues?
Rejoining the EU.
It is the only solution.
And until people realise this, we still going round in circles trying to find solutions to the financial problems and it won’t happen.
So until then crap decisions will have to be made to try and put out the bonfire that was inherited by the current government. Which obviously includes the the con that is Brexit.

The addition benefits people get when they are able to claim pension credits means they have more money than someone who just gets the state pension.
