I would've put Juninho in there. I know he didn't achieve a great deal but he was someone you'd tune into see.
I got Linekers point about Keane. Yes, superb player and an absolute winner but I would've one with Henry or Cantona because they were different and brought something to the game that was something no British players could do (you could chuck Bergkamp in there as well).
Also, and I know March is sending a strongly worded letter via pigeon now, where was Mama?

Technically correct though. Yeah Zola should probably be up there. Be interesting to see who Chelsea fans would pick out of him or Hazard. I'm not having it, I was fuming for the full programme about it! Also be interesting if Chelsea fans would choose Kante over Makelele, I wouldn't although Kante is fantastic. 😂😂 Yeah that’d be good to see as well. I’d pick Kante though. I just think he made so much of a difference to both sides. He didn’t win them the league single handledly but I don’t think they win it without him in those seasons.

It's hard to argue against either player I think, would be close decision. What makes difference for me is without Makelele there may be no Kante. Both fantastic in their own right.

If MotD during quarantine has taught us anything, it's that people really struggle with the spelling of the name Lineker

Remember when Mick Channon was a pundit and Gary Lineker a player Channon used to call him in his best Wiltshire accent "Gary Loin-Acre" ?

1) there’s already a thread
2) it was good again
3) it was followed by highlights of 3 old games which were really good

To be fair, it must be tough for those who run television to try produce new content like this.

He definitely needed a couple of no nonsense centre halves instead of John Stones clones! H Tony Adam was the man for arsenal Everyone looked up to him And he was a brilliant captain But to say Adams, Paul Merson , ray parlor and co , were a bunch of p#ssheads is the understatement of the century . They weren't really Wenger's idea of professional .He kept them longer than he wanted because he couldn't replace them .They might have been p#ssheads and they may well be embarrassed to look back on their own antics .But they were great players , who got the job done and Wenger just couldn't find sober players as good Tony Adams was a brilliant leader, despite his faults. Used to love seeing him belt out the national anthem when he was captain of England.

It's better now than it's been for a long time. I quite like discussions and debates about "the best" and what's not to like about classic re-runs from days gone by?

my number 1 best player would have to be Ronaldo, followed by Henry. 2 very special players like them or not.

Was the Beach Ball goal the Liverpool match? If so the officials got it wrong. It should have been a drop ball.😀

Who enjoyed the Ian Wright show tonight ?
Cantona drop kick had to be No 1, but why did they not show it? Legal reasons ?

Cantona's kung fu kick was undoubtedly batshit bonkers. Even down to Alex Ferguson saying he didn't see it until he got home. One of his sons told him what had happened but it didn't really sink in. He couldn't sleep so went and watched BBC highlights on video and after he still couldn't sleep but for very different reasons. 😀

Maybe I am an old cuddly duddy but I thought it was poor for Ian Wright to boast that “ He allowed his fingernails to grow long so that he could scratch people !! “
Who did he play for ? Oh yes that explains it.

Must be a rights thing, did you notice they didn't show Keegan's rant either, just Fergies wind up. I don't think they own either of them.

Who do you think will be in the 10 best players never to have played for a "Big Six" club
I assume btw, Big Six is Man U, Man C, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs, and it doesn't count even if they were crap at the time, so players like Kinkladze will be ruled out.
Must include:
Shearer Le Tissier Vardy Di Canio Juninho
Possibles? Robert, Ravenilli, Speed?
Any Stoke players? Ryan?

I think lock down TV is fantastic. I hope that they keep to the same format for TV programs after the rest of the world gets back to normal. Most programs are better when they look like a badly executed video conference from people's bedrooms. I'm really enjoying the views we are getting of people's bedrooms. Best thing so far was this week's edition of "Click" where we saw Lara Lewington broadcasting from her bedroom whilst AT THE SAME TIME her husband, Martin Lewis (the Money Saving Expert) was working on his TV program downstairs. How cool is that? That moment was worth the license fee on its own. Then there is the Priti Patel show "Mathematics for Morons" - absolutely fantasic - and it isn't just me who thinks that - Donald Trump is a fan apparently. Mark my words, these past few weeks will come to be regarded as a golden age of TV.
