Just had one of this sticks where you can watch anything. Best recommendations please. I like comedy, dark comedy, gritty stuff, detective series’. Anything that isn’t far fetched to be honest Dark comedy - ‘Inside No 9’ - I’ve only just discovered it, but it’s outstanding! Gritty - ‘Das Boot’. Seen em all, was excellent at the start and fell off badly. Still enjoyed it mind. Even the crap ones

A Town Called Malice 7/10 - typical Nick Love fare. Watchable but not as good as The Business, which it seemed to borrow heavily from. Cracking 80s soundtrack though Cracking song.

Catching Killers season three has just been released on Netflix.
Short 45-minute true crime episodes, each dedicated to a different case (easy to watch if you don’t fancy sitting through six hours for one story)

I started a town called malice, probably around 6 episodes. Thought it was absolutely cack same here, I saw the trailer last year and was very excited for months, until I got about ten minutes in Best bit was Paul Weller's cameo -downhill from there Got into Tulsa King on a long haul flight, watched 3 episodes back to back, very good, finished off the series when i got back I say 'very good' -Sylvester Stallone playing an ageing ganster exiled to Tulsa -been done before but very watchable. Supporting cast all been in gangster films/series

The Full Monty, Disney+
I enjoyed it, all the original cast are there plus some new ones, although Tom Wilkinson barely appears apart from in a few cafe scenes where they all meet. Miles Jupp is a new addition. First episode starts a bit ropey but it does improve and it's a fitting sequel to the film 7/10
Black Mirror series 6
There's probably only two episodes out of the five that feel like true Black Mirror stories, the rest are more mystery and horror. In fact, Joan is Awful, which is probably the most BM-ish episode, was the worst for me. Standouts were Demon 79 (horror comedy) and Loch Henry. Nothing to touch some of the genius episodes from earlier series though. 7/10

Started watching Walking Dead after so many people have said how good it is Trying to stick with it but not impressed so far Got to series two, does it get better? After season 4 I think when negen comes in then it's same old same old. But that episode when he introduces his weapon is is awesome. Not really much else great at the moment so just stick it on when you're doing some admin. Edit: So many seasons that 4 feels early. Prob more like 7.

You really should, episode 6 series 1 is one of the best episodes of any TV series I've ever seen, no matter how many times I watch it I'm always of the edge of my seat. Gouranga.

If you like Korean stuff then Bloodhounds on Netflix is pretty good. Plenty of action and character depth.
Finished black mirror and the only decent episode in the latest season was the 'Joan is awful' one I thought.

Irvine Welsh's Crime 7/10 (ITVX)
If you can get past the strong Scottish accents it's decent enough. Detective with a troubled past and addiction issues hunts a child killer. There's a few other storylines, some don't go anywhere but it was probably two episodes too long (six)
From 7/10 (Sky Sci Fi)
Think of it as a cross between Lost and Under the Dome, a bunch of strangers end up in a town where weird shit happens but they can't leave. Currently half way through season 2, there are way more questions than answers so far

The bloke who plays Tim Spall’s brother is indeed from Stoke. And the reason I know that is my oldest friend has a small part. He’s the much less prominent of the two vicars. He had the closing lines in the final episode. Also a Stokie. Absolutely superb series. Eanna Hardwicke is unbelievably sinister.
