Is that a loan or have we got actual cash for him? Well the story above says it is a loan. But that doesn't mean we won't get paid some cash for the loan. Edwards signed a new contract with Stoke not so long back and would be on decent money. More I would imagine than he can make in the states. I think there maybe a good chance that we are supplementing his wages. probably happened at Fleetwood as well

Edwards has a great cross from deep in him and isn’t a slow poke, Smith at times finds himself to attacking minded and lapses concentration when opposition are countering and breaking through our defensive line. - Both are fine/good for championship standard. - Edwards could have had the potential to progress into a well established RB that would be Prem standard but we’ll never know. Why will we never know? Edwards is only going on loan to the MLS - it is up to us whether we allow them to make it permanent. Or are you suggesting we'll never reach the Prem again during Edwards playing career?

Remember Tom's superb strike and goal against Norwich a couple of seasons ago. It was right up there as one of those goals you just never forget. I was in the Seddon right in line with Tom's strike and knew it was in as soon as he hit it. Fantastic goal.

I was in the Seddon right in line with Tom's strike and knew it was in as soon as he hit it. Fantastic goal. He had a really good second half of that season under Jones The following season he played really poorly and has then been unprofessional (pissed at training, then turned up after lockdown unfit) Barton has generally played him at Fleetwood and he looks trimmer than he was before do hopefully the penny has dropped with him, if it has then great. Fleetwood changed they manager so he's been unlucky there.

Or are you suggesting we'll never reach the Prem again during Edwards playing career? Yeah true - just seems like it’s the start of the end. It’s an unusual place to go on loan, far away, different style and odd if we’ve pushed for it considering we could do with another option at RB. I’m also Speculating whether with MoN saying that the bunch not really wanted need to find themselves a new club to play regular suggest that Edwards (and agent) has made this happen? The MLS seems to gather a few from the Uk league that have been journey men and they then find a place to finally rest. I’ve generally liked him as a player so be happy if he returns better.

Its mad. In most cases there's nothing remotely like 'hatred'. It's just some people confusing criticism with that other word. In some cases there are some who held great hopes for players who then disappointed them in one way or another, and then 'love' turns to 'disappointment' and in extreme cases 'disdain', but hatred is still far offf the mark. Unfortunately every messageboard in the world atrracts people with, may I say, limited scope and limited range of emotions, and we have some of those with a great need to express themselves negatively.. The fact that you are "allowed" to hate local rivals or bizarrely faraway teams and persons like Wenger and even one of our own players because he won't wear the poppy undoubtedly exacerbates the negative trend, but let's face it those that made the death threats that McClean received were dispicable but nothing ever happened. The Arsenal hate is bizarre, because it mostly belongs to what happened 50 years ago, and how many people on here were actually there at the time. The last time we discussed this someone told me that he didn't actually know the reason why he hated the Gunners, but his father had told him that that is what we do. So that's what he did. I think there's a lot less hate in the game than there were during the hooligan years, but it was genuine, not just expressed on the keys. In Spain It used to be that Barca players could not socialise with Madrid players, but then they won things (lots of) together for Spain, and then the negativity mattered less. Still tough games though. I'll admit that I can't understand hatred in football. Football is supposed to be a lot of fun, why ruin it...

Interesting suggestion that their 1st choice RB might be heading to Swansea

Social media has over time created a bullying (from a safe distance) mentality in a large section of society and is in my opinion something which the governments of the world have to unite together to tackle, Its mad.

Get ready for a "Red Bull" fan in peace coming to The Oatcake soon.... Interesting thought. If the US was the destination to shine for Tom, why not Orlando City? Do we still have links with the Club or am I mistaken?

Presumably he will start games - but there seems to be a bit of surprise that they've brought in a RB as they have a good young one of their own who made his US debut last year (although suppose he may be sold?)

Fair play to him, I can think of worst places to live and play football. He's not good enough (in my opinion) to forge a career any higher than league 1 in this country so I can see why he would go there. Good luck to him.

You’d imagine he’ll be back in November ( if they don’t make the play offs ) have a break then be potentially ready for selection after the Christmas break

Great place, but not during COVID (yes, even when considering that nowhere is particularly fun to live in during COVID). If it is his character that has been the question mark (who really knows) then living there for a while may change that. Maybe he'll come back much stronger for it.

That's his career over.
If it wasn't already over, that is.
Wasted talent.
Compare and contrast to Nathan Collins......
