A genuine question - what do you find truly shocking about that video? Genuine answer. There is nothing truly shocking about the video apart from the yellow tie but the numbers being quoted and the lack of action really are. Are you not concerned? My bad - I thought your response was to the video when clearly it was not. Illegal immigration is obviously a problem and should be stopped wherever it is found. I think the issue is very often grossly exaggerated and hyped up for politcial purposes though.

Illegal immigration is Illegal any one living here Illegally should be deported without the right to appeal, now more than at any time it should be charity begins at home, we should be introducing ID cards that can not be copied to all living here, time to uncover these illegals and send them packing along with anyone aiding and abetting them.

Dean, you are so interested in me...if you live fairly. Local , do you want me to pick you up to meet Prestwich? No problem, and in the spirit of friendship. He wouldn't turn up mate, trust me. Typical keyboard warrior (or in his case, garrison).

As I say , similar to Farage and Galloway , I was against our intervention. There are many things historically for which many contries are " guilty" of making worse. I don't think that illegal immigration is right.( that was what the video was about that started this little interlude). I don't think it is the answer either. Although it does make those who believe in it feel better about themselves. As I've said , I don't blame some of the ' asylum seekers ' for wanting to come here..... But Its a harsh world....I dont think we should condone anything illegal. Some of the asylum seekers may go on to resent the Western values and it could lead to unrest. We have enough problems. It is the first responsibility of the UK government to look after the electorate...particularly its safety....as much as you don't like hearing it, until the left grasp this ,they are unlikely to gain a lot of support , especially from the workinh class. Also I think that we already have a problem with overcrowding and the pressure that brings onto the infrastructure....we have not even solved the problem of our rough sleepers without adding to it. Personally I think We solved the issue of rough sleeping during the pandemic in the blink of an eye John, then we tossed them back out on the streets when things improved. When was the last time you heard a government say "We can't afford to intervene in Libya/Syria/Afghanistan it's just too expensive?" It doesn't happen, the money always magically appears...... I don't think that we solved it , did we? But I think that you are right, it is in our means to solve it , if we had the will. Political pressure needed.....particularly from the Left, as with knife crime/ culture clash etc....the Left need to offer solutions instead of just griping, particularly the personal stuff, that won't win any votes, particularly from the middle ground, whom they do need to win over.

Another 200 plus illegals arrived today from France, another Hotel fully "booked" for the foreseeable more strain on our services and economy. Don’t forget the £39 a week they get off the British taxpayer , 4 star hotels , is France a war torn country that they travel the world to get here , I wonder why they risk there lives , what’s wrong with staying in France , is France not the land of milk and homey and benefits like the U.K.

Just out of interest how do you expect someone from war torn Syria with only the clothes on his back to enter the UK other than illegally. He's not likely to rock up at Aleppo International Airport and shout "A one way ticket to London please my man" before walking through the terminal at Heathrow shouting "Where do I claim asylum? The Uk, France and the USA have turned my country into the most lawless place on the planet, my wife is dead and my young daughter has been the victim of human trafficking. Also could you point me in the direction of duty free" That's the point, I don't expect them to enter, when they are safe in France....what's wrong with France? France hasn’t got the benefit system like the land of milk and honey has

There's hotels all over the place now full of these economic migrants, completely booked out until the end of the year.
Keep paying our taxes, depriving nurses a good pay rise, pensions about the lowest in Europe etc. etc.

If you've had the journey from hell you'd settle in the first safe haven you got to surely, rather than getting in a boat and risking a further channel crossing? What's wrong with France? Better weather, still in the EU and not at war last time I checked (unless the Corsicans have suddenly acquired some serious military hardware?)

Tragic. Obviously Farage's answer is to make it harder for reugees to get here increasing these deeply sad, desperate and fatal attempts. Also just a reminder of some of the filth who follow Farage and pop up in his timeline

I have had some experience dealing with Asylum seekers (mainly from Angola) when, after retirement, I worked as an interpreter (Portuguese). They were a mixed bunch, but I remember one man who obtained a qualification in English in a year, worked as a hospital porter and then on a building site (he was a qualified bricklayer). On another occasion I had to interpret for a boy who had seen both his parents killed in front of him and he had been badly beaten. The doctor who was examining him at the time confirmed this. One or two tried it on attempting to obtain benefits. The fact is that the vast majority of people fleeing conflicts end up in neighbouring counties - from Syria, to Turkey, Jordan or Lebanon. There is no easy solution to the problem, but I am extremely uncomfortable with some of the hostile racist rhetoric towards these migrants when, some, might just have something to offer this country in exchange for asylum here.
