They sent on Viera to shore things up. We sent Pugh on to save the day. And that says it all. Was all we had Joe to be fair. Etherington was nowhere near fit, I think it was Jon Walters had to have oxygen at half time, Jones played carrying an injury and Pennant was screwed from the opening minutes. Take out Fuller and Danny H also and basically most of our team were crocked

While we’re clutching at victim straws and 8 year old conspiracy theories we shouldn’t forget the drug tests that disrupted the team strategy meeting and final training on the day before.

They kicked us from here to Kingdom Come, specifically targeting our crocked players, all under a safe haven provided by that cheating spunk bubble and fraud, Martin Atkinson. Yeah, I think they cheated us. I reckon Pennant had to scour the Wembley turf to retrieve his ankles, they really did a number on him.He was absolutely crestfallen at the final whistle too. We were poor on the day,but with Ethers nowhere near fit (he ws either scared to sprint or simply unable,)Fuller out,our forward options were decimated. Also, and imho, the KJ half-chance becomes more and more a clear cut opportunity that he should have buried with every passing year! 😉

i tend to think they beat us fair and square on the pitch. It was a good day out but we were second best. Martin twatkinson also played his part, letting them kick pennant all over the place and letting yaya rake Wilkos calf, should have walked for that.

Man Citeh brought everything with money from rich owners full stop, without the sheiks they'd be fook all! They were also given a ground don't forget.

Could of, would of, should of. We lost but had a team to be proud of. Get over it.

We went a game too far, carrying key injuries to our best players.
Higgy, Huth, Fuller and Etherington all got injured in the lead up to it. Sorensen excelled himself, if Jones scores his one on one I think fate would have carried us. Alas, not to be.
Even if they did backdate the FFP (they won’t) and the ownership was in question it would be a bit “that’s the real quiz!” for me.

It's a major shame we were decimated on the injuries front, a fully fit Etherington and a full strength subs bench would have seen us have a better chance.
Mind they were dirty bastards, never seen Pennant get marked or fouled like he was that day.
Can't bring myself to watch the match though. The Bolton game though, yes definitely, could watch that all day.

Not complaining though all but the best need a bit of luck with the draw. It was a major contributing factor to getting there.

It was hardly a world beating run where we beat 2-3 top teams. but it's the type of run you can get in the cup and we took full advantage. A great achievement, but we got massively lucky with the draw. I remember celebrating drawing Bolton for the Semi-Final because the Manchester clubs had to face each other

Man City were minutes away from going out to Notts County...were 1-0, Lee Hughes hit the post before they equalised. You have to have luck to win a Cup. We were well capable of besting Man U or Man City with that semi final team on our day. Had the cup been played a week later as is should have been we would have stood a bit more of a chance but we did great to get there and the semi was a brilliant day. To this day have never seen Toure's goal again.

We were also holding our own in the premiership at the same time, for a club of this size to get to a f.a cup final 'aswell' is an achievement in itself

First FACup final in 147 years and no real fight given the occasion , a bit like llast Saturday really, but not as bad If there was no real fight given, they'd have beaten us 4 or 5 nil. We had two of our best players injured and another two barely fit. This.

Don't understand why if you own something you can't spend what you want on it as long as you can afford it. If they changed the rules perhaps the Coates could release some big bounce and do a Man City, don't suppose any of our fans would mind that, but they slag City off. How fickle.

Calling another club 'city' on a stoke city message board should be an offence with a minimum punishment of a 1 week ban 🙂

A few passers by stopped to hear the draw and weren't upset I remember. I remember a lady who was quite inebriated leaning through the window. Bolton were above us and was expecting a real close game.
