I think Bristol City are keen on him so it might be best for all concerned that he leaves for a reasonable fee and has a fresh start.

He's had more personal issues than anyone should have to deal with and I wish him all the best but he's a bone idle nothing player and isn't the answer to any question that has the word striker in it.

Too right. Some of lot were an absolute disgrace towards Afobe. I'd never want to wear the shirt again if I was him. Absolute bollocks. He rightly got abuse for failing to trap a ball that 90% of our support could probably have controlled. We paid a huge fee for him and probably give him a salary toward the very top end of the championship and he has never shown anything to justify it. The only shocking thing is that it took so long for the fanbase to turn on the team. It would be interesting to see if MON could get a tune out of him but on the face of it, I wouldn't play him ahead of Campbell or Vokes. It is very easy to criticise the fans for what were very poor performances from a player. The incident above may have been unfortunate BUT lets not blind ourselves to how poor he was playing before he let the ball slip under his foot. Redemption? Its up to the pro to seek it NOT the fans. Look at how Mclean has turned the fans this season. If Afobe has the bottle to put in the same amount of effort and sheer bloody minded application then I am sure he will get the cheers. If not then as sad as his situation has been recently then no point coming back. Whatever way this goes I wish the Benik all the best.

Reports in the press down here suggest his preference is to stay with City. Will depend upon whether Gary Johnson stays in his job or not I guess.

Given the money he's probably on hopefully we'll find a club to take him off our hands.

You obviously have a very different opinion on how to get the best out of players. It's a well known fact that jeering your own players dramatically increases their confidence 😂 I don’t think that’s relevant tbh. They were all fair game and what he did was absolutely useless. It was harsh for sure but wasn’t ott, shameful or any of the other dramatic words being used on here. It was one of those things that happen in the heat of a game. I like Afobe, always have done but he deserved some stick for that.

I think Bristol City are keen on him so it might be best for all concerned that he leaves for a reasonable fee and has a fresh start. What is a “reasonable” fee though? Any loss vs the original fee will hammer us on FFP. And why strengthen one of our promotion rivals for next season? I’d rather get rid of Gregory and Diouf who are both much older and also picking up big wages.

Diouf is going at the end of the season anyway and yes, Gregory was free so that approach would make sense, but I'm not sure Afobe sees his future with us.

100% he is! Everyone else has had a second/third/final chance under MON so yes especially after what this bloke has been through i would hope he will be given a chance.
The formation NJ played didn`t work for him, same with GR - i feel this new formation, especially with Powell looking for runs etc could really release Afobe`s potential.

Definitely worth another shot. I've always said if we play him to his strengths he will bang goals in. Not play him on the wing or as a target man like that useless fucker Jones did.

Campbell is no target man but MON obviously prepared to play him up top plus Afobe won't be available until next season when MON will presumably have made some significant changes to the squad.

Bristol City supporters seem to like what they’ve seen of him. He was poor under our previous managers but it would have been interesting to see what the more tactically flexible MON could have got out of him. Not that it’s likely to happen after how it went for him at Stoke. Good luck to him anyway.

Wouldn’t we all! It’s just that MON has seemed to get quite a bit more out of some players considered lost causes. I wouldn’t have minded seeing if he could have got Afobe firing, and I would have definitely liked him to have had Bojan as an option, like the previous two managers did. Just a personal opinion.
