Wasn't desperately average. Won a league title with Arsenal and did well at Everton. As for his Twitter antics, he looked out for his son when the Welsh imbecile wouldn't play him and helped him get a long term contract. Would you do the same for your kids? I'm absolutely delighted that we've managed to tie Tyrese down to a new contract, something that I certainly was expecting, credit to everybody involved in making it happen. Having said that, we really don't need a running commentary on twitter from his dad throughout the entirety of Tyrese's career. In the not too recent past he was acting like a right bell end and fine, yes he's happy with how things are going for his lad now but what happens if in (say) 18 months time when O'Neill drops him for a prolonged period of time and he starts up his negative twitter antics again? If we legitimise his use of twitter to commentate on his son now, then we also legitimise his use of twitter when he's not happy with how things are going. Imagine if every father of every player at Stoke City was doing the same, it'd be a complete nightmare for everybody involved. He really needs to keep his opinions to himself (bad and good), any manager at Stoke City (even the poor ones) deserve to be able to get on with doing their jobs, without a running commentary from the fathers of the individual players sticking their ore in. Couldn't agree more. Spot on.

Do you think MON really cares what’s posted on Twitter?

And that was one of my very points, the least that we can do ourselves, is not create an ever bigger platform for him, in legitimising his comments by reposting his tweets on here (be they bad or good).

Great effort to get him to sign by all involved. A little word to his fuckwit of a father though... Nobody is interested in anything you have got to say, you were a dreadfully average footballer and you talk a right load of shit, so leave Twitter to the audience it is aimed at who are at least 20 years your junior, because a bloke of your age should know better, and the majority of the people who you are speaking to haven't got the first clue who you are, which perhaps isn't a bad thing otherwise they'd know that you were fucking shit. You forgot about him pulling the race card against the club you support have you? Also Gus Caeser won a title with Arsenal as well.

I agree about the twitter thing but he was far from an average footballer, didn't quite cut it at the top with Arsenal but fired forest to the title and pretty much single handedly saved Everton from Relegation.

Kevin Campbell's problem is his social media comments but let's be honest we loved it when he was saying how great the club were. As for his dealings with his son and the club I'm sure he's no worse than any agent or family member like Ince's father or Shaqiri's and Arnie's brothers. Tyrese is also younger than other members of the squad so why wouldn't he rely on his father's experience and inside knowledge? I'm sure all the players like anyone else ask for the opinion of family members. I also get the feeling that having considered options Kevin and Tyrese are genuinely happy that Stoke is the best place to be at the moment. Unlike Arnie's brother who negotiated a new contract then promptly spent the next season finding another club. I think it's time we gave Kevin a rest and relish his opinion on O'Neill and appreciate what a great player we can watch developing.

He should have just apologised for his Black Friday antics where he traduced the club that pays his lad's wages but I don't think he has it in him.

Agree, that was fucking stupid and he should apologise. He wasn't a distinctly average player though and you know it.

When's the last time Scholesy felt he could smile in public? When he sails past Westport Lake on his narrow boat waving to his fans. Scholes in a nutshell. All over good news like a cheap suit. When shit happens he's nowhere to be seen.

Its not difficult he negotiates the contracts within set limits approved by the board for players the manager wants. What do you expect Kevin to say too after his son (deservedly) got a nice new long term contract because lets be honest in the next 18-24 months he will either be negotiating an extension or a transfer so he is hardly going to call Scholes a bellend even if he thinks he is.

He’s done nothing to earn that kind of price tag. It’s also just not going to happen. We won’t be selling our first choice striker on deadline day with no option to replace him when we are just above the relegation zone...then again, it is Stoke, so we’ll likely loan him out and be pleased with the business.
