Fantastic news and I am surprised I thought he would jump ship. Seems like the manager has played a blinder here. Just hoping our CEO hasn't included some daft clause as is his wont.

Tying down both Bursik and Campbell to new deals makes this potentially one of the best week's business by Stoke in a long long time. Of course the week we signed MON was pretty good as well! It would be nice if Tyrese won a U21 cap in the game to be played at the bet365 in a few months time.
There will be a few intakes of breath at the length of Campbell's new contract but I assume the contract will acknowledge that we are investing in potential rather than an established (high value) player. So it has to be a safer bet than the long contracts and huge salaries offered to players like Imbula and Wimmer etc.
As a matter of interest, does anyone know how a youngster already on the books who is signed on a long contract for a (comparatively modest) signing on fee is valued in the club's accounts? There is no purchase fee to be used to assess the capital value - so is the player valued purely on whatever the value of the signing on fee?

Not at all I try to be balance contrary to public opinion. O’Neil is doing. A much much better job than I gave hi credit for and that’s fair dues . Did make Me laugh that Scholes pinched the signing picture It would've been his fault had he gone to Rangers or Celtic for peanuts though wouldn't it? And of course, he sorts all the contracts out.

Suppose time will tell, Banksy, But there's got to be a lot to work with when you're very quick, have got a torpedo of a left foot and a bit of ego about you. He does seem to be a natural goalscorer. He's already got 7 goals in 9 starts. Those 2 finishes at Huddersfield were sensational. How much would it have cost us, with our FFP problems, to replace that level of potential? I've only had half an eye on Stoke lately. Went to the game on boxing day, even after his stoppage time goal the bloke in front, who had been fairly slating him since he'd come on, turned round and said "he's still wank" - difficult to judge on a cameo but he'd not had a touch until he rocketed it in. If someone is going to score a goal every two games or so, you can live with their other limitations. Gary Lineker was blessed with pace and the natural ability to finish- general ability like being constantly involved, tracking back ( even first touch anywhere but in the box) and he was distinctly average. His ability to score is what set him apart- compare Campbell and Gregory- one touches the ball quite often but doesn’t look like scoring while the other does generate excitement when he gets the ball.

It is amazing how quickly the Campbell story has developed. Since that cameo on Boxing Day, everything has done a 180. From forgotten man to our greatest hope
Really exciting to watch his career develop here and see how far he can go.

Fantastic news we’ve been crying out for a natural goalscorer with a bit of pace and Campbell fits the bill.

I think what's actually improved about Campbell is that his all round game has come on and he's looked more than a poacher - you can't afford to carry a passenger who does fuck all but pops up and scores anymore, especially if you're only playing one up front. He's improved with the ball at his feet, he's stronger than he was and West Brom were petrified of his pace on the counter - all that plus his predatory instincts show how much he's improved. I'd keep him on the right for now probably once he's fit again.

Here we go we’re off already Both parties insert clauses more so the player, If the club don’t agree the player doesn’t sign Though not in a contract I am sure there is some conversation and handshake type promise to allow/sell him if the right opportunity for both player and club is presented. If he keeps banging in goals and he believes a top level team (in PL or Europe) will give him regular time, I am sure we would sell for the right feel. Of course if he's doing that we may be looking at promotion ourselves, though that seems far off at this point.

I'd keep him on the right for now probably once he's fit again. I agree with this 100%. O'Neil and his staff spent time with tyrese when he was out of the team so he was ready when he was brought in. They worked him really hard hence he wasn't on the bench at the start but since returning he's looked the different player as you have explained. Had he not scored v huddersfield he would still have had a good game. He lasted his first 90 minutes, and his subsequent 90 minutes, easily. Credit to tyrese for working so hard but credit MON for making players better in a short space of time. I'm convinced we've gone from the 2nd coming of alan ball to the 2nd coming of lou macari.

I don’t know how good Tyrese is going to be (and no does anybody else) but I am so pleased because it just seems to mark a change in our fortunes and attitude. I think this is 100% down to the manager and it just gives me confidence for the future. That’s what we have to build for and youth has to be a great part of that. Don’t want to be premature but just survive this year and lay down a base for a push next season. Brilliant news !!!
