Official negotiations with the Football Player and Club Stoke City FC have started regarding the temporary transfer of Professional Footballer Oghenekaro Peter Etebo to our Club. TEMPORARY! Jeez. He's like the Hotel California. He can check out but he can't ever leave:-) Contracted to 2023 - so the good news is there's only 2 more loans to go after this one!

He's a director of the Club ! he sorts the contract negotiations out, carries out due diligence, watches each signing 25 times who else do you blame for that, Imbula, Berahino, Wimmer, Etebo, Bruno X2, Woods, Ince, Vokes, Afobe, Bauer all down to managers ? some of these players were signed when we didn't have a manager in place. He does the contract negotiations but his job is to get deals over the line, managers and the head of recruitment in various guises were responsible for approving the players. Badou and Bauer were identified by Hughes and team and Etebo was a target that came available. All were agreed by the football side. Only Bauer could be said not to have been of the required standard. The problem is managers were hired with too much influence over signings Required standard how come no one wants to pay any sort of a transfer fee for them, it is rumoured that these players are on extortionate wages on long contracts but the man who negotiates contracts has nothing to do with it head of recruitment who ?

I won't be convinced until we've seen him holding his new clubs shirt up, then I'll be over the moon we've managed to offload another twat that didn't want to be here. Wimmer, Badou and Bauer now anyone? Gouranga.

Me being stupid again, but whenever the status of players "at the club" such as Etebo, Wimmer and N'Diaye is discussed, the point is made that these players are under contract. It may not be the players fault that they have these highly lucrative contracts, but now that they exist, these wasters cannot be sacked!
Surely the fact that the individuals have contributed so little on the pitch raises legitimate legal questions against them and the continuation of the contract. A good team of lawyers, such as the club should be able to secure, must be able to make reasonable cases for severance. Did these guys arrive here under false pretences, as they could be deemed to be damaged goods, or not fit for purpose. Are they physically unfit to play as they have not maintained their body in the expected manner? If at some point since arriving at Stoke they have indicated that they are either unfit, or unwilling to play, again should they not be deemed to be in breach of contract, as they have effectively withdrawn their labour? And that is just the start, as they must have been in breach of the clubs' ethics, rules or code of contract at some point. These are not guys that strike me as being likely to attend all scheduled training sessions, or always be on time for medicals and so on.
With any employee of a company, if that company wants them out it should be reasonably possible to make a case against them. I have known people to be variously sacked for, as an example, giving false information on an application form (non disclosure of a disability), or for excessive use of the phone for personal reasons (guilty of stealing company time). This may sound petty, but if you start with the basics you can build up a case that ultimately justifies dismissal. I know we are on a different stage here, and dealing with multi millionaires, but these are not model employees that we are talking about and the club should be able to arrange a termination deal with individuals, whether that is ultimately a desirable conclusion or not, and regardless of rules on FFP etc.

There must be something at play here, maybe to do with Etebo and Badou’s shared agent having strong links to turkey which benefits his own financial situation greatly.
As I refuse to believe that clubs like Villa, Castle, Brighton etc would not be interested in either of these players.
Especially at cut price deals. Etebo after his performances at the World Cup was probably worth 2/3x more than we paid. If he was potentially available for 3/4m surely a prem club would take a punt.
Which leads me to believe something, only god knows what is going on with these two.

The only game in the Premier where he had a good 90 minutes was last game of the season - Swansea away. I thought he had a good 45 minutes in most games, but couldn’t put two good halves together; I also could never really figure out what his real skill was? Not a great passer, certainly not a dribbler, and when at CDM quite often got drawn out of position. Yet another that we can’t even get a basic fee of a couple of million for.

He was superb for 90 minutes against spurs, an excellent spurs team. We deserved a point that day. I thought he was our best player that season

I don't get the love in with Turkish clubs? Yes they have loud , mad fans but at the end of the day its a tin pot league and nowhere near as competitive as the Championship. What do they get from it? A couple of matches in Europe ! If these players seriously want to move on for big money and ambition they need to do in the UK not Turkey.

The 'no loan fee' clause is, without a shadow of doubt, ridiculous.
However, if that is the only pony show in town in a raspberry jelly of a wobbly market, then let's take the chance to at least eliminate his wages.
The worrying suspicion I have however, is that with no fee, his shyster of an agent has nothing to get a cut of, and his ilk are not usually the type to go without ... (see where this is going?)
So I'd love someone at the club to state, categorically, that we aren't footing his bill - just to add insult to injury.

He doesn’t want to play for us. No one wants to buy him. O’Neill wants him out of the squad ASAP. A loan deal is the best we can get. All seems pretty cut and dried to me....

Who do these players think they are? He’s not even particularly good. They don’t look beyond their next pay cheque, understandable in some respects as it’s a relatively short career but if he wants a big move down the line would he be better tearing up the Championship for a season or bumming around on loan for the next couple of seasons? As you say, he’s not quite as good as he or his agent thinks he is..

In a way - but bit like moving to Celtic or Rangers, isn't it? Moving to a massive culturally important club with loads of attention from one city and nowhere else really cares. Championship probably is a more high-profile league these days and a better way to get spotted for the Prem? Their agent only has eyes for Turkey though, which is...interesting www.transfermarkt.com/super-lig/besucherzahlen/wettbewerb/TR1/plus/?saison_id=2019Just look at those attendances

It must be a tactic from the agents these days.
Get a move to England on a huge long-term contract. Play half a season for that club and then go decide whatever country you want to relax in. Let the English club pick up the tab for you relaxing in sunny Turkey/France/Spain/Belgium for the next 5 years.
We really are suckers to fall for this trap a few times now.
Etebo joined us in the Championship. Its not like he didnt know what he was getting involved with. These agents need removing from the game.

Breach of contract seems to be ignored by these players and they hold all the cards, creating what is in effect legalised fraud. This should be sorted out by the EFL and Premier League together with their lawyers and imposed on players and clubs alike.
