Question is what’s acceptable after 4 games When Jones was sacked, and we didn't appear to have another manager lined up, you could sense the anticipation from the Poolites. They really thought that he was coming back. The betting odds on Poolis started fall.
Oh the disappointment they must have experienced when MON was appointed.
We can now see their reaction. Two wins out of three is simply not acceptable (apparently).
I'm a relatively new disciple to the Poolistic faith. I freely admit that I hoped he would come and rescue us. Michael seems that he has the character to knock us into shape for the forthcoming battle. And that's what it is going to be.

The Irish SAF! Hopefully 🤞 Unfortunately not is the same league as SAF. He is OK but don't get too excited he is not going to take us into Europe nor win a bucket load of league titles. One thing that may have helped him is that he did play about 6 times for Aberdeen FC but as far as being close to the great man that is the only coincidence. He will not come close. Talks a good one but that's because he is from NI.

The question I always seem to ask.
Why can a moron like me see after one game something like Woods at DM being awful but the bloke who's paid probably a million quid year can't?

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/stoke-city-blackburn-live-reaction-3595055Michael O'Neill press conferenceFirst half we were poor, we were physically poor. I felt we were a yard short in a lot of aspects and short on quality as well. The amount of opportunities we had to put the ball in the box, I can’t think of one decent ball that we put in the box. We had to change a little bit. They caused us a problem with Rothwell playing narrow - which we thought they might do because we had seen them on Wednesday night - and it’s a poor goal to lose. At the end of the day it’s a set piece. You can do as much work and as much analysis of our position at set pieces and the way they play but you have to go and head the ball and defend. We didn’t do that and we’re behind. We had to come from behind again, a familiar situation for this team this season. Having clawed our way back, not through great quality if I’m honest, just playing with greater intensity and higher energy, we get the opportunity to go level. Then again, it’s an Achilles heel. A poor goal to lose on the counter-attack. We don’t defend it well and it costs us the game. Easy to see why Stoke are in situation they're in?At the end of the day, I think there was a lack of belief today which is both an individual and collective thing and we have to get past it. What happens Monday-Friday is irrelevant if you don’t have the belief to go on the pitch on a Saturday and show you’re capable of playing, deal with the situation, deal with the fact we’re in the bottom three and in a fight to stay in this league. That’s the reality of the situation. Today I felt we were a bit fragile. We looked fragile. When you see that, that’s when the quality diminishes in possession of the ball and why players make poor decisions at times. But we’re going to have to play under this intensity for the rest of the season so they need to be prepared for it. How can Stoke start with an intensity they showed after subs were made? You hope that you’re going to get a reaction from substitutions, which I thought we did do. But the intention is for the players who start to bring that intensity to the pitch as well. If you look at the intensity of how we started against WIgan and against Barnsley that was the template for today. We didn’t see it. We have to review the game back, look why that was the case. Obviously the opposition pay a factor in that as well but we didn’t start the game as we wanted. If you start at 4 or 5 out of 10 it’s difficult to get 6, 7, 8 out of 10. You have to try to start higher. Those are things we look back on and the things we have to work on between now and next Saturday. What can you do to change it?We can work on how we play as a team, we can work on the structure of the team, we can make sure we’re better at set pieces. We can do all of those things - but players have to get their own belief. They have to believe in themselves. We can tell them they’re good players, we can work on things Monday to Friday and training can be excellent and the intensity can be there but it’s 3-5 on a Saturday that matters. Simple as that. We need players ready to perform and have both the mental capacity and physical capacity to deal with the situation we’re in. Changes for the squad for Hull?Yes, we will have to. We’ve tried to keep the team as consistent as possible with the one or two injuries we’ve had. We’re learning all the time - and the thing about games is that you learn more about players in games than in training. We’ll have to look at it. We’ll look at the squad. As we’ve talked about we are not short on numbers and there are possibly players on the outside who have been overlooked and we will look at that between now and next week.

This is why I think there's more to it than the manager selecting his best 11. Only a moron would not pick Diaye and Etebo if fit. I think they're being sold and he's had instructions from the board. I think with Allen and Butland we're going the other way namely playing them so their value doesn't go down any further.

It's about staying up and not playing Badou inparticular is madness.

Strange interview. Said nothing we didn’t expect but was far from convincing about having a week with the players to work on things. In fact said learned more about players in a game. Fair enough but the. A week together is time to improve things. Very unconvincing I thought
